so I just now remembered the shot clock is 30. there have already been about 7 games this season where I'm screaming out "10 SECONDS" and wondering why they're not calling it

Our defense is awful. Missing Woodbury big time defensively. Not missing him at all offensively.

A lot of growing for this team to do but this Iowa team is entertaining so far.

and even better, the cubs won the world series so I really don't give a horsefeathers how their season goes. I'll get to relax and have fun watching them

They can only improve on defense I guess but that Tyler Cook spin move than dunk was one of the best things I've seen an Iowa player do in a long time. He's gonna be a good one.

Wait until they go undefeated into whatever your house of horrors is and lose on a last second shot then we'll see how relaxed you still are ;)

yeah, their defense suuuuucks, and the point guards have a lot of growing to do. Cook and Jok especially are going to be a lot of fun for Iowa fans this season

Jok's good on offense but his defense was horrid. He looked like he'd never really done it before which was weird because he was at least useful defensively last year. The amount of times he got beat off the dribble was gross.

I really wasn't expecting a ton from Michigan this year. Maybe a similar result to last year. But they..might actually be pretty good

I'm calling it. It's finally Northwestern's year.

That Butler game would've been huge if they could have gotten it. But if they win tonight and take care of business against the rest of their non-con schedule, they'll be in pretty good shape entering B1G play.

Texas may be overrated but they're ranked, destroying them on a neutral floor is big too.

IU with a win in a classic vs. Kansas to open the season last night. We just have so many weapons. OG led the team early with 10 points in the 1st 8 minutes or so. Then Bryant dominated the middle of the game, where he scored most of his 19. Then Blackmon put up 22 in the 2nd half and OT in case the world forgot about him. And if this is going to be what Curtis Jones is like as a freshman....wow!

The homer in me thought 11/12 was a little low in the rankings for this team. Bryant is probably the best returning player in the nation. OG Anunoby was clearly poised for a breakout season, and getting Khawi Leonard comps. And Blackmon was poised to be this team's leading scorer on a really good team last year before got hurt. I was hoping this team would be ready early and could steal one vs. Kansas, but they actually played better than I thought and didn't "steal" a win...they earned it. The only teams I think that are clearly better at this point are Duke, UNC, Nova, UK, and probably Oregon (don't know much about Xavier).....and a lot of those teams are counting on freshman to carry them this year.

INDIANA

Picked up a ticket for IU-IPFW next week. :stickman:

Yes this is the year Northwestern breaks through. Them and the Cincinnati Reds young players are going to finally push them over the top.

Seems appropriate to quote this after last night's game. What a heartbreaker for them...inbound the ball successfully and maybe hit some FTs and that game is won by NU

Wow, Indiana lost to IPFW.

I turned on the BTN and saw "Indiana - Fort Wayne" and thought IU was playing an exhibition game against the local NBDL team or something.

They did play on an NBDL court!

If they can shoot 75% from 3 for large chunks of more halves they'll be a pretty tough out.

Total heartbreaker. Watching college inbound plays against the press really shows how good pros are at protecting the ball.

Geez Michigan shoots 19.6% from the field (10-52) and 7.7% from 3 (2-26). That was one of the worst sporting events I've ever watched

Bizarre game between Illinois and VCU today, which is being played in American Airlines Arena in Miami for some reason, but not televised, and there are barely 100 fans there.
