i just realized that wednesday is a day game. i don't want to clinch at 3 pm on a wednesday when i'm at work. please lose one.

I'm fine with letting the chips fall where they may but yes I'd prefer a night celebration at Wrigley.

The only thing that sucks is not controlling our clinch destiny. The Cardinals head to the west coast starting thursday so all of their games are later than ours meaning if we fail to clinch in our game, we risk the Cubs officially clinching at like midnight from a Cardinals loss. That will set up the still awesome but slightly less 'celebrate after the next game' scenario. If that happens, I hope we can at least win that game this time so we don't celebrate after a loss.

We'd control our clinch destiny, because we clinch if we win though... In the scenario where we take 2/3 in STL, I mean.

true, bad choice of words, not clinch destiny. I just meant that if we by some act of god failed to beat the stupid Brewers on Thursday we risk the Cardinals clinching it for us in the middle of the night.

Clinch early--run up the gap and bury these clowns deep. I don't want the standings at the end of the season to make this "race" seem closer than it was. (Of course, do it with completely prudent use to optimally launch into the NLDS and all, but for real. Bury them.)

It's September 12th, the Cubs and Cardinals have 6 games left. If the Cardinals won all 6 they'd still be 10 games back

Gonna be at Wrigley Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Hate to see them lose any to the Cardinals so I can selfishly see a home clincher, but it won't hurt my feelings to see Hammel become the sacrificial lamb on Tuesday. Hendricks and Lester I want god-mode and keep it rolling.

Greetings from beautiful St. Louis, Missouri! (I feel dirty now)

Go CUBS !!

Fred would call that place beautiful too, so it has something in common with Toad Suck, AR and Bugtussle, OK.
