This is on Arrieta and Joe. Why put Arrieta out there with 90 pitches? And Arrieta crapped the bed, especially when one guy was begging to give up an out.

Arrieta threw like 4 balls combined to his last 2 hitters, umpire refused to call them.

Wow Jake is cruising and starts out up 0-2 to the 8th place hitter with Rondon and Chapman fresh. How could 3 runs have possibly scored there?

Because we lose all the Arrieta starts now.

Hey now we did win 1 of those last 7 Jake starts

Well, if nothing else, hopefully this is a little wake-up call for Joe that Chapman isn't unhittable and he can't rely on him to get out of every tough 8th inning situation when Rondon is perfectly capable of doing it.

That's not a wake up call he should need.

I wouldn't have started the inning with Arrieta, though.

The wild pitch on Montero or Chapman? Im listening on radio and picturing Montero catching Chapman looking like the years in Bronco or Mustang when the nastiest pitcher in the league humorously gets paired up with the coach who forgets to draft a catcher.... & 5k innings with parades of pass balls, sb's, walks and drop third strikes hilariously ensues

Chapman should have started the inning. If anyone is new wave enough to do it, it's Joe. So, it will never be done.

maybe jake shouldn't have walked a .208 hitter and a .232 hitter

This.

It's so easy to forget with all the [expletive] that happened but Jake just did the wrong thing at a bad time to crappy hitters.

And knowing this year's Jake, that is why you should have pulled him and let Rondon start the 8th.

I'd have to go back and look but I don't think one pitch to the second guy was really close to being a legit bad call ball.

Yeah, he just whiffed on the second guy, but the first guy he struck out twice and it didn't get called.

I'd say 70/30 Montero/Chapman

Montero left a gap between the dirt and his glove. The ball found it.

That's sort of irrelevant. They were called balls. And they were hardly center cut fastballs. Sometimes you don't get the corner.

Yeah, it was pretty much right at his five hole and he tried to backhand it instead of smothering it.

I'm not really interested in blaming anybody. Sometimes bad things happen. Sometimes you just get outplayed on certain plays.

I wouldn't have bunted, and I might have let Rondon get that last out, but also, whatever.
