We are a super team. Just one that is completely banged up.

This will keep us from true greatness in the regular season but assuming we get healthy will keep us well positioned to win in October

If you take out the 25-6 start and the 10-1 stretch, the Cubs are 12-17. If you take out all their wins, they are 0-24.

Record in June:

Cubs 12-9

Reds 11-9

Omg were almost as bad as the Reds

There's still Bryant 25 and 26 coming up in 2017 and 2018. If you think THIS woulda/coulda/shoulda been a super team...shyiiiit, this is the tip of the iceberg or whatever phrase works.

The pitching will be old as balls those years. Defending our World Series will be rough.

this thread is somehow more savage because it's grounded

Dreams of 116 floating away...

If we'd had better luck in coin-flip games we'd have a chance still, but at this point the injuries are starting to pile up. Schwarber, Soler, Fowler all have hit the DL (none back yet), LaStella, one of the major fill-ins for the three DL'd guys, is himself on the DL, and if this Rizzo thing results in a DL stint (I doubt it will, but who knows), that's yet another key piece on the shelf.

I guess there's some sort of irony here that we've had essentially zero pitcher injuries and so many of our hitters have gotten hurt.

Don't forget Montero was on the DL once, and is currently injuried but not on the DL, and in between was a shell of himself, likely due to injuries

Thankful for this to be quite honest, we have always been better positioned to absorb these kind of injuries. That, and aside from Schwarber, we hadn't had injuries to real core guys until Dex went down.

Taking out two .900 OPS guys hurts your offense, it turns out

oh, is this the thread where we admit all our fears and trepidation about where this season is heading?

Richards should be considered on the DL even when he comes back and is standing the mound....

LET'S BE PRODUCTIVE.

Instead of just whining. Let's fix this team. I suggest they all start using these huge ice cube trays. It really does make the bourbon better.
