05/27 Phillies (Morgan) @ CUBS (Lester) 1:20 CDT, CSN

The pitching today was the hottest of garbage but it doesn't matter because Butters is back and so is the offense babyyyyyyyyyyy.

We all get to rest tomorrow. Enjoy time with our families. Continue with our hobbies. Maybe exercise or some horsefeathers. But we need to rest up, because there are more Daytime Dongs coming for us on Friday. We don't need to be concerned about anything less than a sweep this weekend, because Butters is here and he brings the dongs.

Was clicking around ESPN and came across the headline "Cardinals embrace intangibles in 'statement' loss to Cubs" . I read it and re-read it before coming to the conclusion that it was the greatest headline I've ever read. Exactly the kind of thing I would fantasize about in 2012.

Feel like we've had a ton of day games this year, home and road. In this homestand alone, 8 of the 10 games are during the day.

Overall, a quick count shows 34 night games, 42 day games, and 3 TBD at Wrigley this year. I feel like we've had more in recent years but I could be wrong.

Man that article is amazing!

That, perhaps, is something to feel good about even if an eight-game deficit in the division standings isn't.

They have determination, they have grit. What they don't have so far is starting pitching. Wins seem more closely correlated to the latter than the former.

hows the weather looking this weekend? [/rondon fan]

I think storms are possible, if not probable, every day.

This is true. I'm going to Chicago this weekend and to the game Monday so I've been feverishly checking the forecast because that's how I spend my time.

I personally loved the quote from Wong about having their pitcher's back...he booted a ball and killed a rally swinging 3-0.

This is all just so glorious.

Yes, but the important thing is that he was determined to kill a rally with his grit.
