I wonder if Theo really wishes he had pulled the trigger on Verlander now.

My guess is it depends on what pitcher Happ can bring back next week.

I specifically remember the bandanas because an idiot friend of one of my cousins bought one when we went to a game at Wrigley back then. We had a conversation about it that ultimately led to me knocking out a few of his teeth. Yeah, I was super mature about it, but dude had it coming by the time it came to blows.

Well this is disappointing. The Angel's seem like the choice if you want to hide. Arguably the best player in baseball has been invisible there for years. It's certainly not where you go if you are looking for marketing opportunities or if you want to compete for that matter. What a bizarre choice. The best choice if he wasn't going to play for us though I suppose.

I remember that one usually being next to one that said something, like, "CARDINALS FANS LIKE IT IN THE PUJOLS," or something along those lines.

Yep...however immature I was back then I was smart enough to avoid those. I still went with a nice classy shirt that said "St. Louis Sucks"

Edit: I've since learned that there is no need to state the obvious on a shirt I'm wearing

The apostrophe makes it even more offensive.

I thought it was an apostrophe, but I saw another version and it's just a goofy looking font

He could've picked San Diego if he really wanted to hide. He'll be able to market to the LA metro's Japanese population (the largest Japanese population of any metro with an MLB team).

The Angels missed the WC by 5 games. Full seasons of Upton and Ohtani should definitely make them competitive.

I’m fine that he picked the Angels if not us, it’s one of the least threatening options. But it makes no sense to me he picked there from a baseball perspective. They have no room in the OF to give him ABs and Pujols is stuck at DH and I find it hard to believe, even if rightfully so, they are just going to bench him a ton and that he’d accept that. Also they are worse at keeping pitchers healthy than the Mets. This makes no sense.

So barring an extension he hits FA still in his 20s. I like the Angels ALOT as a fit should they successfully navigate Richards through the new horsefeathers TJ UCL injury process. That is an area the Cubs have not navigated yet, at least publicly.

I hope we never have to know about how they’d navigate such a thing

I wasn't expecting him to.sign with the Cubs, but the Angels? That just seems ill-advised.

OTOH, with the way this has played out, it's fitting that it was the least expected outcome that actually occurred.
