Let's face it: the Cubs aren't facing another team right now so much as a bunch of bags of beat they're just toying around with. They've clobbered the Pirates without the use of their dongs, and a small part of actually feels a little bad for the Pirates. The other, much bigger part of wants to see them whip around the Parrot's head with dong after dong so much that it finally just snaps off.

ANYWAY, it's Yips McGee:

vs. this anonymous sack of wet mice:

LOOK AT HIM. He just looks bummed to be pitching, which makes sense since he's facing the Cubs and they will show him no mercy.

I feel a little bad for Pirates fans. The worst feeling in sports is seeing your team's season end the exact same way over and over again. And right now, another Wild Card game is the best they can hope for.

When Fangraphs updates tonight, they'll be projected to win the division by 15 games.

Time to sweep.

I hate to look too far ahead, but let's just say we win tomorrow and have a 6-game lead. The Pirates head to St. Louis. We have a tough series with the Nats coming in, but... big deal. Then the Padres come to town. After that, the Pirates come into town, and are set up to face the same three guys we ran out this week. The Cardinals will spend their time on a tough West coast trip.

What I am trying to say is, if we play up to our potential, we could have an astonishing lead by the 15th of May.

this is what we're doing to the Pirates

We need a picture like the one of Lou.

The Pirates are really good and we're making them look really bad. They're also our likely NLDS opponent so itd be cool to keep kicking their asses all season.

Oh and this start time sucks.

The best part about this is that the team inflicting this pain is a team that they horsefeathering hate.

So if the Pirates play in the WC game again they likely get Scherzer, Kershaw, Bumgarner, Greinke, whoever is the Mets or Cardinals ace. All very difficult opponents. Their reward for winning? Likely Arrieta, Lester and some stud Theo gets at the deadline.

This is the first time I've ever thought "Good thing Lester is starting so it guarantees Ross is in the lineup"

Not that the other dude didn't have a good game last night, but we're talking about David freaking Ross here.

I know everyone has mistypes...but it's just kind of fascinating how you missed the word "me" twice in the same post.

That is all.

Not that it matters much but the Cubs are now 4-1 to win the WS in Vegas while the next closest team in baseball is the Nationals at 10-1. Cubs to at least advance to the WS is at 2-1.(This is from memory last night at home, as I can't look at gambling sites at work)

Early games own. Drop kid off school, eat breakfast, transition straight into baseball.

Nothing makes a workday go faster than listening to the game

Does make the day kinda grumpy though if they lose

This Pirates team is destined to lose in the Wild Card round every year until McCutcheon retires or a curse is lifted.

Which is kinda too bad...cuz Cutch seems like a really good guy. Completely not hateable.

It's like how in some religions you can't actually say "God."
