I should emphasize that I'm not necessarily talking about this game since we'd need a few more runs to make sure, but it's sort of funny how many games this year already have been pretty boring by the late innings because it's so obvious we're not going to lose.

I love how Jake is so good at people are concerned when hes walked 4 guys, even though he hasn't given up a run in 22 innings.

IIRC, walks were kind of an issue at the start of last year as well. As the season wore on, the walk rate went down.

He's a pitcher that wants to dominate the strike zone (well I guess most pitchers are). If he isn't 100% on he's going to miss and walk guys. But he's still not giving up hits, and when he's giving up hits not many of them are extra bases.

It's just because it's so uncharacteristic.

Might be a byproduct of trying to pitch to more contact this year (thus changing his pitch mix). He's always been kind of wild in the zone too. Misses his spots a lot but he's just so nasty it doesn't matter.

Also the Brewers take a horsefeathers ton of pitches so that doesn't help...they're like 3rd in the league in P/PA.
