Dodgers have been extremely aggressive pursuing the games best starting pitchers.... available or not...willing to offer huge prospect packages...they appear committed to having a much different approach to this deadline than they did last year when their moves brought in the likes of Mat Latos, Alex Wood, Bronson Arroyo and Jim Johnson among others. This year they're chasing the Archers, Sales, Quintana's and every other top pitcher. They will be a team to watch over next 10 days

I imagine the Cubs fall into this bucket as well in addition to post hype guys like Walker, Norris, Gausman, etc. Seems like they've already been shut down on the Walkers and Gausmans of the baseball world.

I'd love for the Cubs to get in on Archer, but I don't think they can compete with what the Dodgers will offer.

Cameron has Miller staying put and has us grabbing Colome and Jennings. I'll take it.

Colome sounds great, but I don't see the point of adding Jennings, who seems like a poor man's version of Almora in terms of production offensively and defensively.

Yeah, I'd be excited about Colome. I wasn't aware Jennings has been this awful. Just leave him be.

Jennings makes sense if Almora is going to Tampa or in some other deal*, otherwise I'm not overly interested.

*I would not be surprised if this was the logic behind any interest in Reddick, having a contingency if you trade Soler for a SP or Miller.

If there's any chance of him returning to form and if he's a throw in with Colome, I don't see the harm.

A spot used on the 25 man roster that Almora or Szczur could be using.

Definitely wouldn't trade for downgrades to the 25 man roster.

Agreed but this would fit perfectly into LLF's 'taking a flier' fetish

One of the troubles with Twitter as a news source is that writers are way to quick to try and spin some guy saids into more than just that. Especially in a calm before the storm time such as this.

Oh man thanks for informing us about the reliability or lack thereof re: twitter.

Echo the Davis sentiment, though he did just return from a right forearm strain, so buyer beware. But either him or Herrera would be an excellent addition, assuming health holds up, obviously.

Escobar is heading towards the end of his deal. They've got Mondesi Jr, but could Torres+ get both Davis and Herrera?

Then again watching Chapman hit 104-105 over and over tonight does make me forget about him being a necktat douche.

I can handle a necktat douche. That's unfortunately far from all he is though.

Passan mentioned the Yankees want top end pitching prospects for Chapman. So that counts us out.

Going along with that, I had heard Yankees wanted Reynaldo Lopez, but Washington is basically saying no, take Erick Fedde instead.
