The good today: Heyward and Rizzo

The bad: everything else

There were also good innings by Ramirez and Grimm even if they were against minor leaguers. Murton's "catch" was actually trapped but I think the umps (and everyone else) were just ready to go home.

I was just posting Dex because of the Murton resemblance. I am rooting for him to do good things. I want when-Edmonds-was-stunningly-good good, except this would be better. Because not a Cardinal and Japan. I just worry he would pick horrible entrance music. (Zobrist also worries me in this regard)

wait, LaStella is still a thing?

I can't remember who I used to argue with this about, maybe it was you. But I don't get the LaStella hate. He played in 9 games from April to August (and I think the majority of them were injury riddled). He then played 24 games in Sept/Oct (11 starts to finally get a little rhythm) and hit .311/.360/.489 for an .849 OPS in those 24 games. He was on a tear down the stretch for us. His injuries sucked but he was good when he was healthy.

Definitely wasn't me.

I just had honestly forgotten he was on the team with not playing super close attention to Spring Training I hadn't heard/read his name in so long it was a weird when he came up.

Don Mattingly disease. His neck is 1/8 too long and his shoulder are 1/8 too narrow.

Because everyone should be encouraged to express themselves except Christians. This is getting tired.

while i personally wouldn't want any religious stuff blasted in my ears at a baseball game, it's got much more to do with the fact that the music sucks than anything about the actual religion.

All religious rock/pop music is aural garbage to anyone with any kind of taste. Nobody is stepping on your "right" to punish yourself with Jars of Clay or DC Talk; just pointing out that the music is a special kind of suck.

I don't really care about this, but I had no idea that, for instance, Coghlan's song was even a Christian song until a third of this board started talking about how horsefeathering terrible it was. It was no better or worse than most of the other garbage walk-up songs last year.

I missed where anyone of other religions was being encouraged to push their beliefs on others.

Remember when Kahlil Greene was blasting Baha'i music every time he came to the plate and everyone said it was the best thing in the world while burning Bibles and giving White Jesus the middle finger? I SURE DO.

Yeah I never meant to imply Christianity is bad, just that in general, light-christian-rock music is generally bad. Also, the fact that it is is his wife's and not something that was popular on its own is also another strike. I totally get why he would want to get his wife's music more exposure... but it wouldn't give me confidence that it will be a good song. Anyway, it isn't a big deal, but it just seems like it will feel out of place. Like lets say he comes up between Schwarber and Rizzo who use songs that are funny/awesome/nostalgic like No Diggity and Marky Mark with this song (which he has used in the past):

The first 5 sec on loop sounds kinda cool. The rest is... not a good walkup song. Or a particularly good song period.

Speaking of Greene...I knew about the nature of why he quit, but I didn't know the guy basically all but disappeared:

http://www.stlsportspage.com/CARDINALSBASEBALL/tabid/91/entryid/2009/whatever-happened-to-former-cardinals-infielder-khalil-greene.aspx

Quiet guy, trying to live a quiet life and stay out of the spotlight.....

Here's 4000 words about him.

It's an interesting article and the guy was a public figure; it's not like the writer accosted him or anything. If anything it shows how badly social anxiety disorders can mess someone up.
