I'm not sure how to take that comment TBH

i see it as he feels with the uptick in stuff from pitching in short bursts, he can deal with walking a guy (maybe in pursuit of a chase) at least in part because he can get more strikeouts (or weak contact).

Are we not talking about this elsewhere or am I missing something?

I'm later than you are to the party, but didn't they(FO or Maddon, can't remember) make it clear that Monty was a reliever only going forward?

the end of season quote was Monty would probably go into spring training as a starter and end the spring as a reliever.

Prettt much yeah, I think the comment was they don’t mind him being a starter if needed during the year but ideally he’s not depended on/given one of the 5 spots out of ST.

For those missing Len and JD, this is mostly innocuous but JD gets a couple quality zingers in.

Loved JD saying the Krampus looks like John Lackey.

Maybe I'm just missing something, but what is the inspiration behind that?

John Mulaney has a stand-up bit about getting excited to go to McDonald's on a road trip as a kid, then his dad ordered one black coffee and drove away.

McDonald's alignment chart is a meme going around. I just lazily copied in the five or six Cubs I still remember where they seemed appropriate.

Rizzo is also in the graph, but he's completely covered up by Kris Bryant so no one can notice him.

covered by schwarbs would be more likely
