Try to hit it off the barrel.

I have to imagine there are a lot of reigning MVPs that wouldn't be so good natured about a smart ass cameraman.

It makes me at least mildly skeptical that KB didn't figure it out and was playing along a bit. But who cares, it's still funny.

Yeah, I dunno. Part of me thinks that and then part of me thinks that KB is just such a nice dude that he's not going to be an ass and is the type that goes along to get along.

Yeah, I don't know if he was on to anything or not, but I wouldn't expect KB to respond any differently either way. He kind of gave an annoyed "that's the goal" or something as a response iirc.

Yeah, an understated passive aggressiveness is about as ugly as I can imagine KB getting.

yeah i think that's how you know he wasn't just playing along. That's probably super pissed KB.

Wait, that's just a rumor? I thought all of the "Bryant can't handle his booze" jokes were because he was a known garment-wearer.

They were mainly because he has been vocal about never having had alcohol (thought I'm not sure if he followed through on his claim that he'd drink World Series champagne) and then he has missed/been pulled from games on more than one occasion with "flu like symptoms."

I know it's been talked about that he's Mormon but I'm not sure it's ever been confirmed in any sort of way (like him saying so, or it even being in print as a fact).

I feel like it was usually day games that he missed which fueled the speculation.

At 3:47 PM on Monday, March 20 my wife delivered our son, Bryant.

I guess I need to pick up one of these for him.

Looks like I already have another Sports Illusrated to buy for his collection.

Ok, I need to buy that. And congrats on your new son!

Dodgers over Indians? horsefeathers that

You could throw any of Red Sox, Indians, Dodgers or Cubs up there and it is as good as any other guess in March.

I'd say the guess that ends up being right is probably gooder than the other guesses.

hahahahaha!

That wasn't the full mic drop moment it sounds like...the host was the one who asked him why he won't flip a bat, and he said he is scared to look stupid doing it on a fly out, then Goff or Bernstein (can't remember for sure) was like "what about when you hit it halfway up the video board?" and that was his reply. so it was basically his attempt to still be vanilla goody goody KB.

I reject your telling of the story.

Even without it, I assumed KB was genuinely concerned about hurting the pitcher's feelings.

I don't know...I kind of like it that we have one player who tries so hard to be non-offensive and boring in a T. Duncan way in KB.

And then we have another player who loves to show off his personality and exuberance in Baez (and it definitely rubs fans of other teams the wrong way).

I don't think we have anybody on the same level as J. Bautista, in terms of overall disdain it creates in another team's fanbase. Maybe Schwarber is on his way to being that player in relation to Cardinals fans lol. I doubt we'll ever get to witness some epic Bat Flip from any of the Cubs players, though.
