Feels like a lot of people showing their ages

Well, after the Cubs clinch I am going to head to the tavern for a beer.

I am going to take a nap before the game.

yep, lmfao

If not knowing the lyrics to a Birdman song makes me old, I'll take it

The fact that you think you have to even know of that songs existence to have heard that phrase (I didn't - I was just making a joke because it was a Birdman song and the guy's name is NOLA ffs) only made this whole thing worse.

I'm sure I've heard the phrase. I wasn't the one asking about it

I listen to a ton of current bands and a good bit of hip hop, but I feel fine never having heard of that guy.

Fun fact, Stephen Piscotty has a lower SLG than Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist. He does just have Leonys Martin beat though.

I'm going to essentially ignore this year for him because of his mom's battle with ALS. I can only imagine how much of an effect that might have on your performance. He may not get any better, but I don't think this year is a fair appraisal of his talent.

This is a really grody tangent you've started here, but why would you assume that it would affect him all of this season, but not going forward? That makes no sense.

My guess was it was a somewhat recent diagnosis and that going forward he'd be less affected by it as he learns to cope/gets used to it. But I don't know anything about the story.

Nah, she was diagnosed in late June. He sucked before then, then really sucked in July (understandably), then went back to regular sucking.

Actually, it looks like she was diagnosed towards the end of May, so he actually had his best month of the season immediately after that.

I feel gross.

Holy crap! I don't know where to begin!

Need a little help... do we go with the meatbally "I'd rather have Piscotty over Bryant" route? Or can we just go straight to the Cards fan with a swastika on his neck? That one seems too easy.

How about the fact that Bush stadium was empty of Cardinal fans after the 7th inning last night.

They hung around until the end of the 8th but then there was a mass exodus that allowed me to get down front for the post game shenanigans.

That is just making me laugh. I'd like to think most of us here are emotionally invested in the Cubs, but not crazy like that.
