After seeing the Padres punishment, if this winds up being anything more than a fine, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I cared much more before we decided to be the best team in baseball.

Punishing them now is the equivalent of running over an already limping, disease infected rodent. It was dying anyway. I'd rather watch the slow death in this case.

They should receive the harshest penalty MLB can handout. I want a forfeiture of their first 3 draft picks for 2017, the first 2 for 2018, and their 1st in 2019 with corresponding financial penalties. Their 1st round draft pick should go to the Astros in 2017 with the rest distributed to the teams in the NL Central.

I horsefeathering hate the Cardinals with a white hot passion. I hate everything about the from their stupid red uniforms to their smug, stupid, hillbilly fans all wearing red to the game. They're all a bunch of horsefeathers nuts. However as much as it pains me to write, they've made some pretty good moves this offseason and I expect them to be right there with the Cubs.

nahhhhh

As in 10 games back instead of 17.5?

Yeah, so I despise the Cardinals too, but even I have to admit that punishment is way too harsh lol. You want 3 draft picks in 2017, 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2019 taken away? You could only do that if they had a concrete plan to hack the Astros with approval from the GM/President level or ownership level and could prove they clearly benefited from it via trades and draft selections aided by scouting reports from the Astros.

I feel like they're going to get a monetary fine and the loss of a second or third round pick in 2017, and maybe the loss of Int. $$$ also. Buster Olney reported there should be a punishment coming soon. We'll see.

The Cardinals have brought a slinky to a gun fight with Theo. We will continue to just play with them until we grow tired and break them or throw them away.

I think you guys are a little too giddy over being WS Champs. Yeah we dominated the NL and won the division easily. We probably will win and dominate the NL again, but the Cardinals are still a dangerous team that will remain in the WC chase. I won't be afraid of them come playoff time, but injuries are the great equalizer and in a short series anything can happen...

I mean the Cardinals aren't the Reds or the Brewers. Maybe in a few yrs when they have to rebuild or retool, but they're still formidable.

They'll finish 10 games behind us unless we suffer major injury issues. Then it'll be like 5.

Any team in the playoffs is pretty much as dangerous as any other, so yeah, obviously if they make a wild card, they, and any other team, are capable of knocking us out.

are the fg projected standings based on steamer? i wonder why the gap is so wide that we're basically even (or slightly behind - depending on what day i check) with LA.

Yes they are. ZiPS rightly recognizes that the Cubs position players are streets ahead of the Dodgers, mostly because they aren't afraid to recognize that Rizzo/Bryant is the best position player combination in MLB and not two run of the mill all-stars.

This ridiculous Stadium Journey listicle says Busch Stadium is the third-best stadium experience across all sports.

http://www.scout.com/stadium-journey/story/1746337-top-100-stadium-experiences-of-2016

Yet everything they use to back that ranking was just the Cardinals following already-established trends.

New video board: Installed to catch up with Cubs.

Ballpark Village: One of many lame Cordish Co. "Live!" barmalls. This one came years after Kansas City's larger version.

Wifi: So what? Every ballpark is in the process of getting that.

Food: I don't think anyone ranks their food as above average among MLB parks.

I've been to about 20 of those venues and that is an awful list. If they're listing MiLB parks and not listing Autozone in Memphis they are morons. Alex Box in Baton Rouge? Starkville? Ben Hill Griffin in Gainesville? Ok.

The Cardinals could finally know their "Hackgate" punishment within weeks.

"I expect, hope, that it will play out before the start of spring training," Cardinals chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. said Monday. "I know the goal is, for the commissioner, to get things completed by late January, hopefully early February at the latest."

Between this and the reds stadium pic, this has to be intentional at this point, no?

You are giving too much credit to your former STL brethren

Between this, the reds stadium pic and using the Astros draft board, this has to be intentional at this point, no?
