I love that this comment already has a -20:

Not surprised that this website’s groupthinktariat has united around Hawk-hating. The man has, easily, the best HR, K, and baserunning calls in the game. He’s a passionate supporter of his club, how is that a bad thing? We’re talking about gamecalling not live sabermetric breakdown, which you can get plenty of on great blogs like Fangraphs, THT, etc. The aesthetic of calling a game shouldn’t incorporate too much intrusion of sabermetrics for the sake of dry analysis, although I like what certain teams like AZ and TB are doing in mentioning wOBA, FIP in a nuanced way. But gamecalling is supposed to be exciting, keep you interested, make the game more interesting. So I’m not surprised the analysis score is low, but I’d give Hawk much more charisma and overall, and if I’m watching a game the Sox are playing in (not a fan), then I switch to their TV feed because I know it’ll be some entertaining calls.

So.....Clayton Kershaw has a 77:4 K/BB ratio

He's pissed about that Fangraphs article suggesting that Thor may have passed him as the best pitcher in baseball from earlier in the year.

There are three teams with more wins at Turner Field than the Braves do and four other teams with as many wins there as the Braves have.

at the quarter pole of the season, the phillies have the third-best record in the national league. i assume you all predicted this.

With a -28 RD...totally predictable.

if you're going to make up a body part, you gotta try a little harder than that.

Ichiro, who is 42, is batting .417.

Prior to May 21st, he had started only 8 games and pinch hit the rest. Over 47 AB's he was batting .319

His last three games he has gone 10 for 13. 9 of his 10 hits have been singles. His slash line over these three consecutive starts is a joyful .769/.786/.846/1.632

He is also 40 hits away from 3,000 MLB hits. Including his Japanese league stats he has a total of 4,238 hits presently.

Ichiro is awesome.

I'm not sure how many of you will remember this, but hearken back to the days of trading for Phil Nevin. Remember he came from some AL team and had pretty much just been DHing? He was so out of shape that he couldn't play 1B every day and we all laughed at him because that was truly ridiculous. I'm no world class athlete but I work out regularly and am in fairly decent shape. I played 1B the other day at my daughter's softball practice so they could all get some extra fielding in and I couldn't believe how jacked up I felt the next day. I was tight in places I didn't even realize I had used the day before. Moral of the story: I'm old and Phil Nevin probably was in better shape than most of us as an old, fat first baseman.

After another bad start tonight Harvey apparently didn't stick around to talk to reporters. Not that I care at all but there's probably going to be some fire take tweets/columns tomorrow and in the coming days about him/this.

Holy hottest of hot takes. That headline alone just blasted my face like I was looking at the Ark.

That article could be reduced down to "NY Post beat writer's ass is chapped when a player doesn't give him quotable sound bites".
