Jake's way wrong, *but* he did play college ball and is only like a year out of school. So like if a normal person would get 5 he'd be probably get like 15.

95 pitchers got 20+ PA last year, 80 of them had a batting average higher than .053(35/650). Yes those guys are much better athletes and a chunk of them were hitters at a higher level than high school, but I think it's instructive that you're talking about a limitation that's as much a physical pass/fail than it is about particular skill. If you assume in that hypothetical that you're a pro baseball player who is working on their swing/bat speed/pitch recognition occupationally, I think there's plenty of regular joes who get 10-15, and a subset of regular folks with beyond HS experience and/or very good physical attributes(eyesight, twitch reaction) could probably get to 35.

Yes, there are certainly non pro athletes that could muster 35 hits, but if we're talking the average Joe, the median person is only getting on base because an errant pitch was rifled into their ribs. Edited by WrigleyField 22

35 hits? I'd be happy if I made contact 35 times.

if i took 35 *swings* my body would crumple into dust

Well even at 4 at bats a game, that's max just 12 swings a game, likely less as I'm frozen in fear most of the time. So I could work up to those 35 swings over a few games at least.

I'd have to not take BP though to reserve any strength for the ABs, though. At least until like mid season when I've developed some sort of core.

So this was the original video/tweet. I guess it's an old clip? I've never seen it before and thought it was new...

how does this video get resubmitted on a monthly basis by clout chasers?

That's what I was thinking.

...then you can explain what a clout chaser is?

I'm referring to the people with a fairly large twitter following posting that video as if it was something they discovered, as an obvious ploy for retweets and likes. It's been around a long time, and in the past two weeks I've seen it presented as new by multiple people, despite personally avoiding twitter a great deal.

Daniel Bard has made the Rockies' roster. He hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013 and has issued 46 walks in his last 13 professional innings.

Didn't we have him in camp or on a minor league deal or something one year?

Yep. Since being waived by the Red Sox, he's played for the Cubs, Rangers, Cubs again, Pirates, Cardinals, Mets and now Rockies.

My god the hype on this team is insane. The Venn diagram of people betting this and those who bet on Mitch to win MVP that made it the most exposed MVP bet at books is just a circle.
