Tim Tebow really missed his calling as a Tight End/H-Back. If he didn't have too much pride, he coulda etched himself out a very nice career there

I'll never forgive the Bears for inexplicably blowing a game against him to build his stupid legend up and also to miss out of the playoffs.

that game should've been amazing...jay's return to denver and the bears should've demolished them. the fans still were super mad at him back then so it would have been glorious. that season was heart breaking. team was absolutely rolling.

The last ~5 seasons of Bears football has almost totally destroyed my interest in football. Everything from that season forward has been an unbroken line of heartbreak or outright misery.

Sorry to post off topic but. Tebow.

looking back, with what we've had at WR since, it's amazing we were rolling teams with johnny knox and roy williams as our wideouts. obviously, the defense helped a lot but the offense was scoring points with the opportunities.

Also MLB has tweeted or re-tweeted about Tebow 13 times by my count in the last 6-8 hours. They've tweeted about Mike Trout 11 times since 2016 began..... https://twitter.com/search?q=Trout%20from%3AMLB&src=typd&lang=en

lol, you're using the MLB twitter account as your "marketing" definition? I don't even follow that account, actually.

Try @Cut4 or @MLBGifs.

MLB's Twitter has 6 million followers, Cut 4 has like 700k and MLB Gifs has 200k. So I'd say that MLB has a greater reach than either of those two. I was just pointing out how ridiculous it is the main MLB Twitter has posted more about Tebow in a few hours than Trout all year.

The NFL has almost 20 mil followers so maybe the MLB marketing dept knows what it's doing in trying to target those fans.

Roughned with a solid walk off bat flip, can't wait for the gif.

Edit: more of a pimp than bat flip in revisiting it.

He hasn't played baseball since high school, right?

He has zero chance.

Yes and he wasn't even good then, IIRC, he had no college offers to play/wasn't drafted.

Scouts who watched Tebow at Nease High in 2005 share their recollections through a time-induced haze. Tampa Bay Rays special assistant Bobby Heck was working as an East Coast supervisor for the Milwaukee Brewers when he scouted Tebow in suburban Jacksonville.

"I saw enough to know he was a 'follow' of some sort for the next year just due to his size, strength and athleticism,'' Heck said in a text message. "He looked like a football player trying to play baseball, but he would have been scouted like a real prospect as a senior if he had played and not enrolled early at Florida.''

Neil Walker is done for the year with a back injury, herniated disk I think. It's the 3rd position player the Mets have lost this year to a back injury, kinda weird.

Laurence Holmes said on the Score today that the Sox have been 55-60 at the 115 game mark every year for the past 3 years now.

Thats baseball hell. Good lord.

So Ronald Torreyes has a 115 wRC+ in 112 PA for the Yankees. Huh.

.298/.348/.452

For shits and giggles, add the 8 PA he had with the Dodgers last year and he's got a .300/.353/.455 career line in 120 MLB PA.

Actually, the most shocking thing to me is that he's still only 23 (and, oddly enough, just turned that 2 hours ago).

Rougned Odor currently has 30 HRs and only 14 walks. He's currently the only player in MLB history with at least a 2-1 HR:BB with at least 10 BBs. If it's dropped to 5 BBs, he's still one of only 3.

Can we somehow mash his hitting with all of the other stuff that Baez does awesomely? Because that's what I was promised.

Following today's 3HR game, Brian Dozier is now sitting at 38HR. He is now 4HR away from tying Roger Hornsby for the single season HR record by a second basemen. Even more impressive is that of those 38HR, 24 have been hit since the ASB(206AB). His post ASB line

.320/.367/.723, that's a .442 wOBA or 180 wRC+

Rick Porcello's 19-3 with a 3.23 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. Weren't the Red Sox laughed out of the building for giving him a 4 year contract?

And who was it on this board who wanted him when nobody else wanted anything to do with him? One of the smart guys, I want to say Tiger or David.

I know Gato's wanted him forever IIRC.

I was just perusing some stats and saw that the Pirates are 26th in pitching fWAR this year.

I guess Ray Searage isn't actually a wizard.

So the Mets are probably going to get a WC spot, or at least they should.

They're 1.5 behind SF and 1 behind St. Louis but here's their remaining schedule:

1 @ Cincy

3 @ Atlanta

3 @ Washington

3 vs. Minnesota

3 vs. Atlanta

4 vs. Philly

3 @ Miami

3 @ Philly

St. Louis and SF have more games against each other than the Mets do against teams over .500. Giants also get 6 against LA while the Cards play the Cubs 6 times.
