Stanton out for the year

Well there goes my preferred WC winner.

Well maybe not they seem like a team that could survive his loss plus the Cardinals suck so

I have a weird combination of emotions that include being sad for Stanton, disappointment that i dont get to see him hit any more moon shots this year, and also really happy to see bad things happen to that organization.

Stanton out for the year

Christ what a rough couple years for that guy

He had a two month stretch that was one of the most painful stretches I've ever seen (worse than Heyward) and he keeps getting season ending injuries

Get that poor guy off the Marlins that place is kryptonite for good players

Josh Donaldson and John Gibbons look like they got into a little verbal scuffle and had to have guys come between them. The Jays seem to have quite a few douches on their team including Gibbons and Donaldson.

Donaldson is a douche? Why? Donaldson rules.

he's a mighty fine baseball player, but let's not pretend he isn't 300% authentic douche

Watching Prince's farewell conference, pretty touching. Dude was a likable guy even though he played on a rival for a long time. Sad situation.

I also think A-Rod has gotten a raw deal pretty much throughout his career and the way this is ending is pretty ugly and silly. Dude is 5x the player Jeter was and he's getting mad disrespected on his way out. Its silly.

I don't hate ARod or anything like that, but at best he's just been a ridiculously easy person to laugh at and mock. I mean, yeah, it's ultimately just a game, but I can't think of another player with his talent level with as little respect his way, or someone who just so consistently managed to do or say the wrong thing to make him look even more absurd. Like, Bonds was a notorious dick, but that often just made him more intimidating and enigmatic and even badass. ARod is just a clown. I guess I feel sorry for him in the sense that you feel sorry for someone who simply can't stop making a complete ass of themselves, but mostly I just found him hilarious.

I always thought best thing about that photo is you know that nobody had to suggest for him to pose like that; he probably wouldn't stop doing it and they were finally, like, "FINE, we'll take the [expletive] mirror picture."

Hitting homers onto the roof of Tiger Stadium will do wonders for your legacy.

I mean if Glenallen Hill didn't hit that rooftop homer at Wrigley how many of us would look back fondly on his time with the Cubs, or his time in the majors in general?

me, for one. why can't I track down the video of him not being granted time and stepping back into the box to single? it was against the Marlins

I found a crap ton of gifs of him falling down while running the bases.

That's Kal Daniels.

I just saw Jayson Werth has a 46 game on base streak. I thought he was pretty cooked as a player when we last played them, and I when I went to look at his numbers I expected to see them vastly improve, what with the streak and all, but he still only has a 108 OPS+. That means he must have been extremely consistently just OK for 46 straight games.

He's slashed .258/.379/.453 with a wRC+ of 124 during his streak (not counting today's game).

So, while not world beating, would rank him in the top 25 outfielders with at least 190 PA (195 during streak).

Look at it this way: how many people would we kill for Heyward to have that line?

Heck, let's just randomly look at his second half numbers for fun an-OHMYGOD:

.170 .215 .240 .455
