Congratulations Cincy, you now have a CF and a 2B who could steal 50+ bases but unfortunately neither of them can hit.

Gotta have that speed, dude.

Did they really want Peraza so much? Why not just take the package the Sox sent to the Dodgers?

The package the Dodgers got is so much better. Why were the Dodgers even involved unless the Reds absolutely had to have Peraza? If that's the case they're an even more laughable organization than I thought.

Seriously. Sox and Dodgers come out pretty well in this trade. Reds deal their biggest non-abusive closer trade piece and the return for them is pretty meh.

Starting to wonder if LA is trying to amass enough chess pieces to make a run at Fernandez. They certainly have a few intriguing pitching prospects

...does Friedman consummate these deals with rohypnol? like, is the paperwork being submitted to league offices with squiggly-ass signatures?

That's funny

That's what the buzz is now among the beat writers and national guys. They have the pieces to make it happen and also could feel they have to given the additions to the Giants and Dbacks/losing out on Grienke and Price.

They now have 6 pitchers who will be MLB ready in 2016 but no rotation spots for them. Urias,De Leon,Cotton,Anderson,Lee and Montas. That is an enormous amount of value sitting in AAA/AA waiting for a space to open.

Good observation. That has to be what's going on here.

Just to play devil's advocate, Montas is a reliever, Urias needs at least a half season at AAA, Lee does not seem to be valued or considered much at all by the front office, and Anderson has a rotation spot for at least half a season with McCarthy not healthy. On top of that, Kershaw is really the only IP stalwart in that rotation, so they're a team that needs rotation depth more than the average team anyway with Wood/Ryu/McCarthy/Anderson being heavily featured.

Not that they won't make a move from that depth, but when you consider Anderson, Urias, and Montas have defined roles that are not 6th/7th/8th starter, I don't know that they truly have a logjam that needs fixed.

Indians were in on Frazier and just saw him go to a division rival. Here's hoping this forces them to up their offer for Soler.
