4th and 1in the red zone, about 7:30 left in the 4th, down 11, having the QB throw a pass to a receiver running a fade route makes me think Les Miles is already coaching Nebraska.

I think I'm sensing what Nebraska's weakness may be.

I lost count of how many times Armstrong threw ridiculous desperate chucks into multiple defensive backs

I've seen a lot of college football people comment about how Ferentz has been given way to much slack during his tenure, and I've never understood it. Sure, there are better coaches out there, but they aren't going to Iowa. Ferentz has done about as well at Iowa as Hayden Fry did. I'm not sure why people think Iowa can do better than this with its extremely limited talent and financial base, and complete opposite of the sexy recruiting atmosphere many other schools can offer.

Pretty much. I've expressed frustration with the guy at times and his style of football is really agitating to watch when the team struggles but Iowa has had some pretty high highs and not many low lows under Ferentz.

Iowa football is a cash cow that can compete with pretty much anyone. Ferentz keeps pulling out those 10+ win seasons often enough to buy him a couple more years.

We somehow win it all he gotta be here until he doesn't want to be anymore. Even if they go back to the 7 win seasons all the time.

IF they could somehow win it all, I won't give a [expletive] what happens for a long time.

I know they're playing in a monsoon but this Baylor-TCU game is a [expletive] show. No points since the beginning of the second quarter, neither team can move the ball much and they can't pick up a third down at all (combined 4-32 right now).

It's ugly as hell.

Michigan's defensive line is terrible. Getting blown back every play. Spartans dline was in the backfield every play last week.

decimated depth coming to roost

but on the bright side maybe this affords us a couple more years of Durkin?

I think Michigan gave up on the run too early also. They were getting yards, but just stopped.

IU is going to a bowl! Weeee! :stickman:

You were probably going to a bowl regardless, depending on how the NCAA decided to prioritize 5-7 teams. If academically, I'm assuming IU would be towards the top.

congrats though. That offense is too damn good to not play in a bowl.

Going to a bowl with a losing record would have felt so dirty though. Especially since it would have meant losing to a god awful Purdue team. Yuck.

It's not exactly squeaky clean to get a bowl with a 2-6 conference record, with your best win being Western Kentucky (though they did dominate CUSA). I'd feel pretty good with a bowl win. I'd feel really good if they could have gotten that Rutgers win. I'd be on cloud 9 if they were able to eek out one of Ohio St, Michigan, or Iowa.
