I was planning on going to Game 3, but a 4:00 start will make it impossible without using vacation days which I need for NLCS/World Series.

You're going to be upset that you missed Jake's closeout perfect game.

Well, one of them.

If we really end up playing at 4 or whatever the hell on Monday, I will be [expletive] pissed.

Getting second priority to the Dodgers and Mets would be a [expletive] joke.

Gotta love that east coast bias.

Damn right. A little after 5 PM is a great time to start a game.

it's a terrible time in october for shadowy reasons

By 5:30 October 9, the entire field will be in shadow

game 2 starts at 4:30 local time, games 3-5 potentially start at 3:30

I can't believe this is what they want after the ratings the Cubs got last night. I know I've been reading you guys debating the NY/LA thing today and obviously my judgement is biased but the Mets and Dodgers don't even seem like compelling teams

Yeah, I don't quite understand the scheduling either. If both NL series were to go 5 games, MLB would really shoot themselves in the foot by putting the Cubs/Cardinals deciding game at 4:37 EST. That just doesn't make sense, especially with the other game being on the West Coast. Why not go with a more traditional 6:00 and 9:00 (or later) start times to get both games on in the evening?

Or, since the argument is that the NLDS is primarily local market driven, just put one game on TBS and one on TNT and overlap them.

I hate the Dodgers now. Those start times are awful.

Now? Vin Scully can eat a bag of dicks.

I know people love him, but I have a hard time listening to him. He never stops talking.

I recant every bad word I ever said about Steve Rosenbloom.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/rosenblog/ct-cubs-celebrate-and-play-hard-rosenbloom-20151008-column.html

When Dusty Baker was mismanaging the Cubs, he griped about the way some teams celebrated after beating his team. This, mind you, while Baker’s Cubs were bouncing all over the field following their victories. Clueless, that Baker.

But it points up the kind of edginess and pettiness that develops.

It might not make sense to you, but understand there’s a lot that doesn’t make sense in a sport made up of unwritten rules.

The response, though, is pretty simple. If that kind of bad feeling develops, then opponents can stop it by beating the Cubs. Have at it. Take your best shot. Pop your own corks.

But I’ll tell you what: I’d rather watch the Cubs' display after victories than the one in which the Cardinals honor drunk drivers every game.

I feel like this is the first time I've seen anyone make mention of this in the media.

I do not like him as a broadcaster and get annoyed at how much love he gets when he's just a senile old man at this point, and this still seems weirdly harsh to me.

I like that. He has been sharp recently. Seeing his "weak stuff" shut down STL will be extra delicious.

Only thing better than the Cards in the NLDS would have been the Cards in the NLCS

Yeah, it was really fun getting to watch them go down in person last year. Only thing better would be to have the Cubs being the team taking them out.
