this dude can't be serious...can he? no, really, can he?

What an [expletive] moron. Especially right after Rizzo, easily the most mainstream position player on the Cubs, hits a homer

Also completely glossed over the fact that a team with more "misfits" in their lineup has the best record in baseball by several games. Which is funny because they never miss a chance to rip Matheny.

Pretty sure that was not a serious post. The dissonance has moved on from 'The Cubs aren't going to be good' to lampooning the 'Maddon as miracle worker' narrative, which itself is largely imagined.

i was hoping you'd chime in

i just needed to decide if i should take that post as complete stupidity or sweet misery porn about how good we are

even if most of them are meatbally idiots

I'm willing to make an exception and hope they are the most meatbally meatballs ever to have meatballed if they are in the presence of cardinal fans

Every baseball team is a ragtag group of misfits.

And Castro is gonna end up being more valuable this season than Soler.

i'll bet you're as right about this as you were about fowler not sniffing derosa's WAR

You're just mad that I'm so much better a reverse jinx than you are.

I was just thinking...with Schwarber coming back and Castro hitting again, along with Javy, does Soler even have a place in the everyday lineup when he comes back?

zips has soler with a 100 wRC+ the rest of the year and castro at 90 (which is about where soler has been all year - and where castro was in one of the good castro seasons)

so figure out the rest with the defense

No. He's behind Schwarber, Coghlan, and even Jackson for me. And if Castro and/or Javy are hitting, I think he's behind them too, when you factor in how rusty he'll be, as well as the defensive impact.

This season? If he even comes back, no. What did he show that would merit finding a way to fit a light-hitting, defensively terrible outfielder into such an awesome lineup?
