....you can't make a trade for anyone, it's September 12th.

That aside, I prefer a pen day to anyone who would be traded at this point. Eating the innings isn't a problem, we have a 13 man pen.

Why is the Cardinals/Reds game blacked out on MLB.tv?

My suggestion is to turn your tv onto Fox

That is what I thought too, but Fox is showing the Blue Jays vs. Yankees. I'm only 50 miles south of Chicago and haven't ever seen the Cardinals or Reds blacked out before. Strange.

FOX is only showing St. Louis/Cincy in local markets because it started later than the Yankees/Blue Jays game because of the suspended game completion

it made no sense, should have been handled just like a rain delay ... start with the out of market game, join the in-market once it starts

When the rumor came out August 31 that the Cubs were trying for a starter, Harang was who I had in mind. I think I actually like the 2 bullpen games. Should be able to beat the Phillies without a real starter going. And I think you could really keep the Cards offense off balanced by not letting them see the same pitcher 2 times thru the order, especially if you don't throw similar pitchers back-to-back. Something like Wood, then hit them with Edwards, then Wada/Cahill to get them thru 5, then regular pen usage after that. Having an offday Monday, and then Lester and Arrieta after that Cards bullpen game would be the ideal time to make it work also.

I didn't think so either, but wasn't sure and didn't want to put my foot in my mouth. Looks like ESPN has Wada listed as tomorrow's starter.

Sure you can. They just can't be on your post-season roster.

ah, that's right. I misread. Anyway, bad idea compared to just saying 'Edwards/Wood/Cahill', you guys are gonna get us through 5-6 innings one way or another.

Yeah, I am trying to find someone that might fit. I don't see anything that would work better than a pen day. And if it is Aaron Harang... hard pass.

Richard, Wood, and Edwards in short spurts leading up to the late inning guys could actually be pretty decent. Even Cahill's stuff as a reliever looked pretty good the other day.

Harang was obviously an example. That's not who I'd want. But if we're closing in, I think it's an option. Totally dependent on what cleared waivers obviously. Ian Kennedy perhaps?

i kind of want the pirates to keep winning. i want the cardinals in the wild card game.

that loss in st. louis kind of took the wind out of my sails when it comes to the division. i want arrieta to send them home in one game.

I was Mr. Root for Pittsburgh but let's see if we can beat them and pick up more ground on STL in the process before we completely give up on the division
