I know, that seems bizarre. Not that perfect 6+ game road trips are common but in their 130+ year history i cant believe its never happened.

Damn looking at the Cubs-Giants probables, I would favor the Cubs in 3 of the 4 (Leake-Lester, Cain-Hendricks, Peavy-Arrieta) and Heston-Hammel is just about a wash

I can. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that they'd had a 6-game or longer win streak on a road trip before but didn't win all the games on said trip.

i feel like you guys are responding to that road trip tidbit the same way as the sweeping one team in 7+ games thing. Doesn't sound all that crazy.

6 consecutive wins is fairly rare. 6 of them fitting very specific parameters is like exponentially more rare.

I also believe this is at least partially due to old timey times when they had much longer road trips. They would be home for 15/16 games then go on the road for the same amount. The 1945 Cubs had a 10 game win streak on the road, but started out 3-3 on a 16 game trip.

Plus, the Cubs have had so few winning seasons in the modern era that there haven't been a lot of opportunities to rack up a bunch of road wins in a row, yet still lose 90.

Yeah, that too.

Just like the one about the Mets sweep...7+ games vs. teams that aren't in your division (which would be a lot more than 7 games) doesn't happen that often, and sweeping them happens even less often.

I hate Kaplan so much. Castro has a good game and he can't wait to tweet out something negative.

Why do you follow Kaplan?

I don't. My friend brought it up. I asked him the exact same question.

lmao i'm not sure but i think he blocked me and all i did was favorite a couple pro aramis responses to him last night

I still never understood the hate for Aramis, who played at just a nudge below HOF level for the Cubs for like 10 years

He's still the only player i ever bought a shir-sey of, and I'm glad he's still had some success in the MLB. The criticisms of his "hustle" strikes me just as strangely immaterial of the "Castro doesn't have his head in the game" stuff. I couldn't care one iota about either of those impossible to prove criticisms, I care if they hit or not.

So Clayton Richard replaces Soriano in the bullpen. I actually don't terribly mind the idea of Richard as a reliever.

I really don't mind the idea of 'anyone but Rafael Soriano' in any spot on our staff.
