He should absolutely learn to throw to first. Not sure how anyone could argue that.

Gonna get [expletive] for saying this,

you eat at the same place KB did?

KB was out all night last night and must have stopped by Flash Taco in Wicker park...

Frias isn't pitching well, we just have a sub-MLB lineup playing so they can't do anything.

Roster move tomorrow hopefully, especially if Bryant and Fowler are still out.

I officially hate the Lester signing. Rare mistake by Theo giving that much to a player over 30. I much rather have stuck to signing/trading for talented but struggling arms who Bosio could work his magic on.

It was hard to face that truth in the wake of signing such a good player, but it's worn off and I'm pretty pissed.

As a fan you have the right to feel any you want.

BUT, I'd say it's unfair to put this on the front office. Everyone was waiting for them to sign a big ticket free agent, and I really don't remember anyone bashing the move when it happened. Jon Lester appeared to be pretty safe to not be a bust and be a quality pitcher for four or five seasons (still hope he will be).

I'm not yet freaking out that this is Barry Zitoish.

I remember a decent amount of detractors at the time, not really on the player signed, but on the contract for a player of his age. Relatively speaking, he struggled a fair amount the two years before 2014 (contract year, makes sense), and while you would like to think he just found a new level last year, they had to know a regression to the mean was possible, if not likely.

I guess giving that much money to someone over 30 who plays once every 5 games isn't worth it to me, especially when you have guys like Arrieta and Hammel currently giving us more for much less. We have a stud pitching coach, which to me should let us be a little more picky about who we dish out huge contracts to. I agree that we needed that #1 guy (even though Arrieta is pretty much that) but I'm just not sure they picked the right one. Just makes me a little nervous that we're counting on years of high-level play from a guy already half-way to his 32nd birthday.

That is kind of crazy to play most of a game without Soler, Bryant, Fowler, Castro and Montero. That's the 1,3,4,5 and 6 hitters in our preferred lineup.

Man I just have not been able to get excited about/feel particularly confident in Lester all year. Kinda a bummer.

I'd say the number reading 240 on the scale when Lester steps on it - and not being able to exactly describe him as "muscular."

So Jaxon is out as a Saturday starter and if he goes 3 innings he probably can't piggyback Wood either. What exactly are we going to do there? Granted, it's STL throwing Wacha against whatever we send up there, so it's halfway to a white-flag game already.

Kinda like Kershaw and Greinke?

Oh, damn. I didn't know that's what he weighed.

Never mind then.

In comparison, David Wells weighed 248 at the end of his career standing only 1 inch shorter.

I hear ya. I had no idea that Lester was only eight pounds lighter than Wells.

I will never trust any man named Enrique, let alone a man named Enrique with the nickname [expletive].
