Jean Segura missed like two weeks with a broken pinkie finger last month. I wonder why a ring finger is so much longer?

 

That finger is more involved in both fielding and holding the bat

I just saw this news.. darn that stinks i was looking forward to seeing him play at wrigley in the near future...

 

do broken hands / fingers ever lead to serious regression ? or is it just a heal and get back into the swing of things type of situation?

Doubt it, now if it was a wrist injury, that's a serious problem especially for a guy that relies on power and a hard swing like Baez does. You saw what it did to Derrek Lee for a little bit after 2006.

The trade deadline is in July...

 

Are you guys thinking of teams signing guys by a certain date in the NBA to be eligible for the playoffs? Lol.

You have to be on the 40 man roster on Aug. 31 to be eligible for the postseason, so a player acquired through the waiver process after 8/31 can't play in the postseason.
