4 k's tonight wow old javy

It's like he's prepping for a return to the Cubs....

I kid, I kid

That said

So just compare this here

Addison Russell AAA .OPS .803 -->> MLB .OPS -- >> .731

Kris Bryant AAA .OPS 1.042 -->> MLB .OPS -->> .841

Javy Baez AAA .OPS .914 -->> MLB .OPS -->> ????

if you take the average drop in OPS for Addison and KB it would be about - .136

I honestly think he can perform as good as Addison but anyways he should be able to put up an OPS of around .770 for this team that would be huge..

that would make him about 5th best on the team..

Ummmmmmm...

I've always been a bit skeptical about Baez. His 2014 campaign, both AAA and MLB combined, reinforced that idea, but actually worried me more than previously. He's GOT TO make more contact or he is going MLB pitchers will kill him, like we've seen. He's made some adjustments mechanically and is making slightly more contact at AAA. These are good signs and trends worth watching.

Baez is going to be a really good defensive 3B. I think it plays into his skillset (and build) better than 2b and even SS. He has really quick hands and good, but nowhere near great, range. And I think it will help him not having to think as much on defense. Not that he's stupid or anything, but there's not going to be a lot of "should I charge or wait for the hop?" type decisions to make. If his bat makes it, I have a hard time seeing him being less than say, Aramis Ramirez defensively in his prime, which was very good.

i'm not saying aramis didn't work his issues out but that still seems like such a weird example to come up with for a very good defensive 3B

This may be overshooting but couldn't Baez at 3b / 2b end up pretty much like the guy were playing against this weekend Anthony Rendon?

Very likely not.

Even if he ends up Mark Reynolds with 20 home runs instead of 30-40 but plus defense, that makes him a valuable asset. And bat him 7th with Russell, Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, and Soler 2-6 and Castro 8, that makes one hell of a lineup, though be it a bit righty heavy.

Yeah at this point it wouldnt be hard for Baez to out perform some of the guys on the team getting playing time every day..

What does this mean exactly? What's the time table on an injury like this?

Saw earlier someone say on twitter that a fracture would mean 6 weeks.

Am I the only person wondering why somebody like Baez is stealing bases in AAA?

Yes. Yes you are.
