Bryant last night: 34 pitches faced, 4 walks, and a hit. Now has the same OBP as Rizzo.

1 HR, 2 BB, 1K in game1 of the Mets Series last night. There's the 3 true outcomes guy I was expecting; until the HR in Milwaukee, he was basically a 2 true outcomes guy as of late.

I'm going to say it again... I think he's going to be fine at third base defensively.

topic for discussion: is there any kind of contract offer that could be made now, which would be deemed reasonable by the cubs and by bryant/boras, and would buy out his arbitration years and first 2-3 years of free agency?

I think 10/$150 might not be terribly unpalatable for either side. Figuring about $60 million might buy out the arbitration years (including this year) and then tack on the rest for the final 3 years.

It's not an insulting offer, but I would be surprised if Bryant were interested in 10/150.

Agreed with all of the last few posts, and if I'm Bryant there's no way I'm signing for 10/150.

I joked in yesterday's gam thread about how Boras will counter any offer with 20/$1B. He's expected to be Babe Ruth and provide like 250 WAR over that contract or something.

You have it a year off. He doesn't become a super 2 until after 2017.

Mike Trout is going to make around 147 million for his first 9 years, and that's with waiting to sign a deal until he had put up 2 10+ WAR seasons.

I hand timed him between 4.10 and 4.25 to first on that "routine" grounder that he beat out in tuesday night's game. pretty damn good for a player who isn't supposed to be fast.

Bryant interview with a "tour" of his downtown condo

Looks like he's living on Wacker somewhere

or wait is that the trump?

No, can't be since you can see Trump in it. It looks like 111 W. Wacker.

ETA: his unit is SE-facing but there's a part of that video that shows the North view -- which looks like the party deck at 111.
