why do we think they are players to thrive in that type of arrangement? i more want guys like Edwards (and Arodys types) to piggyback

My enthusiasm is as much for trying the concept than it is for those two specifically. I think that's the future of pitching to lower injury risk and reliance on individual pitchers, and starting with a combo like Wood and Jackson(neither of whom have much room to complain about their situation) is a great way to break it in.

 

On the performance side I don't think it's a bad match though. Lefty-righty, different velocities/repertoires, and Wood specifically has been much more hittable with additional trips through the order.
