So deflate-gate is the word of the day?

I guess it'll turn out to be a "faulty pressure gauge" or something like that.

This is just what the League wanted heading into the Super Bowl. It didn't matter but hopefully they lose some picks given their history and not just fire the equipment manager and fine a billionaire.

NFL network not saying a word.

Haha, Pats fans:

-Officials are to blame for not inspecting properly

-The balls could have been deflated from game conditions (but the Colts balls weren't apparently?) like Gronk spiking the ball

-It was probably a mechanical error when inflating the balls

I've only read the first 2 pages so maybe their perspectives changed on the other 11 pages of the thread, but funny to read anyways

Were the Colts' batch examined, and was that reported? I didn't hear anything.

Rodgers says that the officials let QBs handle a bunch of them before the game and essentially pick out what they want. He likes to try to sneak in over-inflated footballs. Brady apparently likes to sneak in under-inflated footballs.

I'm confused why this is now a huge cheating issue, given that it has been known for years, even if not nationally reported like this.

I guess they'll fine the Pats and take away a draft pick again. And the NFL will probably reap the rewards of even bigger Super Bowl ratings.

Cue the footage of the bag of footballs prior to the game :). Maybe they ought to make the official inspection part of media day.

Kickers used to microwave footballs so they would go farther. The league took over the kicking ball and that "scandal" disappeared. Why does anyone care about this?

Because the Patriots/Belichek have cheated before. If it was the Jaguars or something, nobody would care.

It's fun to [expletive] on the Patriots, and it was a cheating scandal in the conference championship game involving deflated balls. There's probably a small segment of the public that cares about the morality involved, but the majority of people are having fun with it.

Ravens fans aren't enjoying it at all for some reason and I'm surrounded by them. This makes me want the Patriots to win. The League could then give them a slightly smaller football on the trophy.

Patriots never bothered me. Don't care if they bend the rules with footballs and cameras. They got caught. It's funny. If the NFL doesn't do anything about it, then why stop trying to find ways to get around the rules?

If the NFL were the MLB everybody would hate the Seahawks because of the number of juicers they've had. I hate the Seahawks. I have for awhile. And I don't think they're some juggernaut like everybody says. They have not beaten a real playoff team with a real QB since like Week 4. Well, that is until the Packers decided to give them a free Super Bowl appearance by doing everything the exact opposite of how you should do it, and then it still took a few balls bouncing the Seahawks way.

If you can't tell I have about zero motivation to watch this Super Bowl.
