Trestman literally just said he's going to watch practice film to determine why they cant translate practice performance to games.

Holy. [expletive].

Ok, maybe this was just meant to suggest they're clowns, but those are the murderous, human eating Killer Klowns From Outer Space, which suggests levels of weird I don't understand.

I'm Jo-Jo the ice cream clown, we'll give you a stick, you'll give it a lick. And it'll tickle you all the way down. Ice cream, ice cream, we brought our goodies here to you! A tasty treat for while you screw! Let's take a break! Cool off those hot lips with our frozen fruity bars! Icy-wicy, fudgy-wudgy bars. And everyone's frozen delight, the lick a stick!

Rob Rang's mock has them going Shane Ray at 8 (Thompson gone at 7, Collins picked 9). Ray has been amazing this year, but I don't know that he fits. He's smaller than Shea was at DE, much more athletic, but you'd be taking a top 10 pick as a guy you can't put on the field for 3 downs.....unless he can play the Von Miller role at SLB in the base D and DE in nickel.

But I feel murdered and maybe even a little eaten. Ok, it feels more like it's from out of left field than outer space I'll give you that.

What's your thoughts on Oakman?

Might work if we go 3-4, otherwise I'd want Collins. He's a beast.

That is horrifying.

As horrible as the Bears looked, the Vikings have won in Chicago twice since 2000. 2000 and 2007. That's it, that's the list.

I love Teddy, love Zimmer and this defense has been much better than I expected. But I'm going to go into this game fully expecting another Bears win over the Vikings.

Vikings futility at Soldier Field vs. Jared Allen's lifetime winless streak at Soldier Field. What wins out?

The game will end in a tie

the thing about it is, there is way too much pressure on the offense to do anything because the defense literally cannot stop anyone on any drive. that's totally not fair to the offense.

Am I imagining this or have the Bears gone away from the status quo of winning the toss and deferring to the second half? I feel like one of the past couple games they won the toss and elected to receive, assuming they knew they would give up a TD.

Point spread is down to Bears -3.5 now. I still don't get that line. I figured it would be closer to a pickem. The public perception is the Bears are the worst football team of all time. It almost seems like Vegas wants people to bet the Vikings.

Bears 31 Vikings 17

The road to 7-9 begins here.

I know for a fact they won the toss on Sunday and elected to receive. They received first against New England but I'm not sure who won the toss.

But yeah I think its a strategy shift because of their desire to get an early lead before the defense starts sucking.

If they are interested in the potential for an early lead, why not down the kickoff 9 yards deep in the endzone where blocking in the back and holding calls are very unlikely and the referee rewards you with the ball at the 20 yard line?

Shane Ray, Vic Beasley and Randy Gregory are all way more athletic and explosive than McClellin but I've been scarred by Shea. They would work if you had a creative DC in a 4-3 (and obviously in a 3-4) so if you go that route, Tucker better be gone.

@mikecwright: Boy if something were 2 happen 2 Trestman, wouldn't be a shortage of applicants based on texts coaches have hit me up with since last night.

I followed up with him, and he said that basically it was coaches asking "what do you think will happen with trestman?"

Is this man calling in a hit?

Of course there wouldn't be a shortage of applicants for the job of head coach of the Chicago Bears.

I thought the 3-4 was a gimmick? ;)

Would you be comfortable with Trestman/Kroemer - Rex Ryan next season?

Meaning Rex Ryan as DC under Trestman?

Yes

Correct. Ryan is there to shore up the defense and generally make Trestman uncomfortable.
