Week 11: Vikings (4-5) @ Bears (suck), Noon CBS/780

Posted
Just fire Kreutz and Urlacher already, so we can discuss this week's game.

what is there to discuss?

The Bears are 3 point favorites last I saw.

On cbs sports pick-em, they are 3.5 point favorites and 57% of the people have taken the Bears at that spread.

The media has spent the week focusing on what a joke this team is, nobody is paying attention to the game. AP is supposedly still going to be out. It is going to be an ugly atmosphere on Sunday.

Marquess Wilson. Will he get the same amount of reps as Santonio Holmes? Less/More?

Probably about the same this week as he breaks in. Less than Josh Morgan. Hopefully by the end of the season, he's passed Morgan and is the starting #3 WR.

yeah, those Chad Hutchinson/Craig Krenzel/Jim Miller/Shane Matthews/Cade McNown/Jonathan Quinn-led teams should have been powerhouses. Kreutz was a center, not a QB, but he did manage to keep everyone from melting down while they were terrible, they even made the playoffs while his QB managed the game, bit by bit.

That's a gigantic, sloppy fart of a leap to a conclusion. That's George Costanza leaping like a Mary over a puddle.

Kreutz was a good player. Kretuz was known for being a gigantic prick. That's it.

Zimmer is "expecting" a "bounce-back" game from the "Bears".

I'm sure he is very worried.

I fully expect the Bears to win this in semi-commanding fashion just to give us shreds of false hope and to [expletive] up their draft standing.

It wouldn't be surprising if they do win a few games here on out to screw up a top 8 pick since the schedule does get easier.

Definitely; plus I refuse to believe that the offense simply forgot how to play football. They'll pull some wins out of their asses. I'm expecting 7-9 to end the year.

I see that as a potential scenario, but I put it at something like 20% chance of happening. I don't feel comfortable fully expecting anything out of these guys.

If I had to guess I would bet a double digit lead gets whittled down to 1-3 by the end of the game is the most likely scenario, maybe 30%.

20% they lose big, 20% they lose a close relatively well played game. 8% they get up big and then lose ugly.

And 2% chance of a comeback win.

I'd bet 10/1 odds that a player literally quits during the game.

Cutler gives the crowd the middle finger is now off the board.

It would all be worth it.

A full on Cutler meltdown might be the most entertaining thing that could happen the rest of the season.

7-9 assumes 4-3 the rest of the way, meaning they have to pull off an upset against one of Detroit (2 games), Dallas or New Orleans (or more upsets if they lose to Minnesota or Tampa). I expect 3-4 the rest of the way.

Oh, an upset is a given. That's how they roll.

My 3-4 prediction includes an upset of Detroit and a loss to Minnesota.

New Orleans wouldn't necessarily be an upset. In Chicago at night in December. The Saints kind of suck, and they'd be on the road.

CBS crew of Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon & Stacey Dales will work #Vikings #Bears game Sunday at Soldier Field.

Gannon has called for Cutler to get benched this week.

Should be fun on Sunday.

Is Jay still doing his weekly radio show?

He and Marshall are supposedly still taking turns on it, but it's been a few weeks since Cutler was on it. This week was Marshall's "turn".

Bears win out. Finish 10-6. But miss playoffs due to losing the tiebreaker to the Packers.

FWIW (not much), Mike Ditka and Lovie Smith both started their Bears head coaching careers at 11-14 before leading the Bears to the Superbowl.

Makes sense -- I couldn't seem to find this week's. It's too bad, too. Would have liked to hear what he had to say after Sunday's bloodbath.

Of course, neither of those guys took over 10 win teams.

It's not really the losing that's the problem. I mean, it is, but the coaching staff wouldn't be catching nearly the amount of heat that they are if they haven't looked so horrible while losing.
