Trestman on run balance: Completions for first downs to Morgan and Jeffery on the opening drives were called runs, checked to passes.

when are you going to take away Cutler's ability to check out of runs?

why would you want to take away Cutler's ability to check out of runs?

Haha, UMFan is complaining about check outs that led to first down completions.

everybody seems to be griping about not running the ball against the 32nd ranked run D, and earlier this year in another game. In both cases Trestman defends himself by clearly stating that Cutler checked out of multiple runs so...that seems to be a part of why they aren't running the ball enough, no?

No.

This team's problem is not that they aren't running the ball enough.

people are griping that it is a minor problem not the team's singular problem as you have worded it.

Potential HC's (obviously not all of them, but to make it easy):

Quinn (Seattle)

Roman (San Fran)

Gase (Denver)

Horton (Cleveland)

Bowles (Arizona)

Your preference?

I'd roll the dice on Gase. He'd need a strong DC, but I love his pedigree coaching under McCoy and Fox.

Quinn or Bowles.

I like Bowles a lot. Quinn would be interesting. Gase is probably overrated because of Peyton.

@AdamHoge: #Bears elevate OG Ryan Groy, an undrafted free agent from Wisconsin who has been with the team since the NFL Draft. Teddy Williams waived.

As horrible as the Bears looked, the Vikings have won in Chicago twice since 2000. 2000 and 2007. That's it, that's the list.

I love Teddy, love Zimmer and this defense has been much better than I expected. But I'm going to go into this game fully expecting another Bears win over the Vikings.

You might be correct about Gase, but again I like who he has been working under. I feel like so much of what is lacking in this team is solid professional coaching. Fox is a good pro coach and Gase is running a dynamic offense that makes great use of its weapons.

That said, Bowles is clearly an excellent coach in his own right and I'd be happy to have him.

Vikings futility at Soldier Field vs. Jared Allen's lifetime winless streak at Soldier Field. What wins out?

Trestman literally just said he's going to watch practice film to determine why they cant translate practice performance to games.

Holy. [expletive].

lol

Ok, maybe this was just meant to suggest they're clowns, but those are the murderous, human eating Killer Klowns From Outer Space, which suggests levels of weird I don't understand.

Yeah, Bowles is my #1 choice. I just love how aggressive Arizona's defense is.

How about Malzahn? I have no idea what to think about him making the jump to the NFL. And Jim Harbaugh will probably be available too.
