while his UZR error score is at an all-time high, his range has really decreased this year

i mentioned this elsewhere, but he may be settling in as a Jeter-esque fielder - more sure handed and lacking range - and if we scout him as such, he's probably headed for a move to his right next season or soon thereafter

If only we had a minor league shortstop to backfill!

This hasn't been the 2015 rotation thread in a while, but this'll work here nonetheless: http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/baseball-joe/blog/the-cubs-might-not-need-a-starter-afterall-082114

Not including Samardzija or Hammel, the Cubs' current group of starters ranks sixth in baseball in WAR this year. Of course, a big part of that is due to the unexpected success of guys like Kyle Hendricks and Tsuyoshi Wada, but if you're going to say that their track records suggest they can't keep this up, you have to do the same thing -- in the other direction -- for Travis Wood and Edwin Jackson, who have been good before but have struggled this year.

Besides Jake Arrieta -- who continues to pitch like a legitimate front-line guy -- the Cubs' rotation might not be full of potential aces, but there's nothing wrong with having one good starter and four decent guys. Could they do better than Jackson? Sure, probably. But let's not pretend that this team is in dire need of tarting pitching. The rotation, even without Samardzija and Hammel, is still just fine.

How about a Dave Cameron warning.

David Cameron @DCameronFG · 6m

There was a bug in the active roster filter that led to incorrect data in the Cubs piece. My apologies. Working on a fix.

lolllllllllll

Sorry, guys the very purpose of the article was horribly flawed, let me get right on that.

Come up with some reason why, after the year was over, Win/$ predicted exactly what would happen. Same thing he does now.

that doesn't even make sense as a response

Sure it does. That's what he would do in that situation.

Assuming that we acquire a front end starter in the offseason, Turner, Straily, Doubront, Wood, and Jackson are going to make for an interesting spring training battle for the 5 rotation spot.
