Wow, still weird to think the first of the Core Four is finally here.

Well, he's the second; it's just that everyone in the media who uses that term doesn't realize Alcantara is better than Almora.

Dammit. I was contemplating a trip to OKC this weekend to see Iowa play. I guess I can still go see Soler and Bryant.

Sucks. Only get to see 2 top 15 prospects instead of 3. Your life sucks.

Can we all form a pact or something not to freak out when he strikes out like 33-35% of the time during the rest of the season?

34% is probably the o/u. if he's right there, i'll be cool.

34% of his HRs might leave the state of Colorado this week.

Wonder where he hits in the lineup? I'd go with 6th.

LF- Coghlan

CF- Alcantara

1B- Rizzo

SS- Castro

3B- Valbuena

2B- Baez

RF- Schierholz

C- Castillo

I'd go 2nd or 4th

Alcantara

Baez

Rizzo

Castro

Valbuena

Castillo

Coghlan

RF

or

Alcantara

Castro

Rizzo

Baez

Valbuena

Castillo

Coghlan

RF

That would be great. Non-Arrieta days can watch the 1st inning, then the 4th, 6th and 9th (assuming 1 hit not erased by GIDP out of the bottom 5)

And we don't even know yet who might be filling that empty slot at Iowa...

JJ Cooper @jjcoop36

Baez's callup now likely keeps Cubs from being first team ever with three prospects in Top 7 of BA Top 100 Prospects list.

Don't hold your breath for Russell if that's what you're insinuating (though I'd love to be wrong)

My wife is gonna be so pissed when I interrupt her nightly vampire diaries marathon with actual man stuff (watching 4 baez Ks)

Almora's not in the 4 either. Baez, Bryant, Soler, Russell.

*I know the name was given before Russell was acquired.

@RandallJSanders: I assume Theo and Jed walked into a control room, inserted twin key cards into an enclosed console, nodded at each other and said "LAUNCH"

Wasn't there some talk that the FO wanted Russell and Almora to hang out or something of that nature? Russell initially (SSS, yes) struggled after the trade and there was some mention of Russell not knowing anyone as a plausible reason.

Once the prospect guys catch up in the offseason, Soler will be #1.

Make sure to grab him for your fantasy teams. Even if he strikes out a lot to start those home runs are going to be tasty coming from the middle infield.

Fun random perspective from a Twins guy:

Aaron Gleeman @AaronGleeman

Twins prospects Alex Meyer and Trevor May are 1,062 days and 1,164 days older than called-up Cubs prospect Javier Baez, respectively.

He's already on 4 of mine.
