I love that we all spent the first two months of his shitty season joking about this happening and then it happened right on cue.

I'm genuinely curious as to how many people are gonna lose their [expletive] when Baez just kinda sucks for the first couple months when he hits the big leagues.

the meatball fans will definitely hate him, because he won't be hitting much and he doesn't "play the game the right way"

Between learning a new position and striking out 30% of the time, they are going to hate him. At least Castro will get a break though.

The strikeout rate will probably be closer to 35-40% early on.

I'm totally going to need to be reminded several times that he always does this.

I know he's like 10 years older, but it still freaks me out that he's producing at about the same level as Baez at AAA.

They probably call Baez every night. "Good night Javy, good work. Sleep well, I'll most likely call you up in the morning."

That's dreadful :hello:

They're gonna be the same people who say Rizzo needs a RH platoon partner after opening day when he struggles against Liriano or that we got the short end of the trade when Cashner has a good 2-3 game stretch before missing 2 months with an injury.

I don't know why this bothers me so much, but Baez ends July with a .999 OPS

Bryant finished with a .992 OPS

Other interesting splits....I'm not sure how much this matters but

Bryant

Bases empty: 1.158 OPS

Runners on: .957 OPS

RISP: .688 OPS

Baez

Bases empty: .777 OPS

Runners on: .858

RISP: 1.008

Wow, and I thought Bryant had a bit of a down month while Baez set the world on fire.
