people that do lists, where do you have Hanneman currently? just curious.

At best, he's in the very end of my top 20. Definitely not top 15.

Barely top 30 for me.

even with his last couple months? the turn-around's been pretty staggering.

It's just the age for me. I'd probably jump him 5-10 spots if he got promoted and continued this at Daytona. I hope he gets a chance soon.

true. that's a reasonable stance.

He's right at 30 for me. He only has a .669 OPS in July and has only really had one good month this year (with a decent April).

Has anyone even homered yet? this night is dumb

All of our prospects are expected to hit at least one HR per game. We don't even get excited anymore over this.

Baez is hitting really well lately, switching positions, and is approaching 400 PAs in AAA. I wonder if we're not going to get a surprise soon.

Yeah, moving positions at this point caught me off guard. I do kinda think we'll see him in September or even sooner now. I doubt the service time is as important as it is with Bryant since Javy's not the virtual lock to be somewhere between an above average hitter to MVP caliber and is more likely to talk extension I would think. Also, he'll need to go through a period of striking out 40% of the time, so it would be nice to get that over with.

Most important part to me. If the Cubs maintain hope of contending next year, barring a big trade Baez probably needs to be good to make it happen. Might as well burn his traditional terrible first 100 or so PAs now.

i don't know how much we care about stuff like this, but i imagine that burying those 100 pa's at the end of this season would draw a lot less attention than throwing him out there at the beginning of next year. on the other hand, if we pretend it's possible to damage javy's ego, he might be better off not getting those first 100 pa's and then having the season suddenly end.

Might we call Manny up to help with Baez's transition. I know Manny has nothing left in the tank, but I would love to see him in a Cubs uniform.

The Schwarbler also pitching in to cement Bryant's #1 overall prospect status by gunning down Buxton stealing.

Is Baez the most likely of our prospects to get traded? That's what I keep thinking, although I hope I'm wrong.

I think general consensus would be yes, though that doesn't mean he's actually likely to get traded.

If you mean elite prospect, I think thats unpredictable at this point. If Theo moved any of them it will be for a massive return, so it all would depend on what the other team prefers. Assuming Bryant is untouchable, in a big trade, the other team would likely get their choice between Baez or Russell.

As far as most likely of our top 10 or 15 guys to be involved in a trade, I'd put my money on Vogelbach.

I had this voice in my head (not that frequent, actually) that Castro was going to get moved.

If that were true, why would we have just moved Javy off of SS?

Bryant is hitting .344/.417/.760/1.177 at Iowa. He has the highest OPS of any full-season player by over 50 points (Gallo).

Also of note, Schwarber's full-season OPS after tonight is 1.062.
