Completely random side note: look at the stranglehold the braves have on the entire southeast. Raleigh, one of the fastest growing areas in the country, could definitely support and benefit from an MLB team. People always ask "Why are you a Cubs fan?" (my mother and her family and from the Chicago area and converted me young). To which I reply, "Why are you a Braves fan?". "They're just the closest team"...

That's how it was growing up in the Tampa area pre-Rays and Marlins. And even after they showed up, people still cared more about the Braves. The Southeast is also maybe the worst blackout region in the country. Being in Mobile, AL I'm blacked out from all Marlins, Rays, Braves, and Astros games. Nevermind the fact the closest team I can drive to see is 5 hours away. The Marlins are like 12 hours away. "Sorry, even though you're paying us to watch this game, you can't watch it! Why not buy a ticket and $250 in gas to go watch the game in person?"

MLB Blackout rules might be one of the most infuriating things in my world.

I was very proud to see my little spot in north fl on the map, might have been personally responsible for that (like to think so anyway)

I kind of "lucked out" with my blackout regions. My hometown of Salisbury, NC I used to (still am?) blacked out of nats, o's, and braves. In Greenville, where I work, I *think* it's just the nats and o's (can get MASN on direct tv, which I used to have so it didn't matter). I'm currently in hell, err Lenoir Co., NC and it seems this is where MLB blackout officials stopped caring. There are no blackouts at all. More than that, when I was having trouble with MLB.tv (the iPhone/iPad app has been weak) pearlier this year, I typed in my area code 28504 and it said that it wasn't recognizable.

Clay County, Ky. is mine. Nice to see that Cincinnati chipped in for us.

Maybe all the Cub fans at the series this week voting while at the game?

Judging by Rizzo's dominance of Michigan I am assuming the Tigers/Cubs joining up actually helped some.

They also had the same superstation benefit we do.

There are two counties in all of georgiabama who voted rizzo, and where I live isn't one of them. My 60 or 70 likely came up WAY short.

Out of curiosity, I clicked the county I lived in South Carolina when I was a little kid, and it was like 90 percent Upton.

Good point. I meant to add that in there last night but forgot. Chalk it up to the beer, I guess.

Ps screw you cubs fans. Partnership over

Did anyone actually buy into the "partnership" and vote for both? I didn't.

It was a joke that Sale wasn't already on the roster to begin with. Dude's got a 194 ERA+ with 102:16 K:BB ratio in 95 IP and is already worth 4.2 rWAR and 3.2 fWAR. He's [expletive] great. Edited by The Logan

i've been thinking, and the perfect way for this "things seem to be going too well for the cubs" sequence to end would be a major rizzo injury during the all-star game. so let's all watch for that.
