Well geez...how about we see where all the big name FA's end up before we do this? If we've learned nothing over the last few days it's that nothing is a done deal till it's done.

Are you talking about them winning the eastern conference or the nba championship? Cause you responded to a post that was only about western conference teams.

This whole thread has been about the "East is over". And I responded to a post that mentioned 3 eastern teams also.

If the bulls got melo would you even favor the Cavs? I would not. That's a near 50 win team adding melo rose and Mirotic.

If they get Melo, do they have salary room for Mirotic? Seems like from what I've read it'll be tough.

I don't know. Take him away and they are still better than the Cavs with a melo Signing.

Bulls CAN get Melo and Mirotic (Mid Level Exception) and keep Gibson, but it would require multi-team sign and trade deal and a lot of moving parts, but not unrealistic.

Lin+future 1st to the Lakers. That's nearly $50 million tied up in just Nash, Kobe and Lin this year. Nash ($9.7), Kobe ($23.5) and Lin ($15, though only like 7 counts towards the cap). Edited by Cubswin11

If you get Melo here on a S&T, you can give Niko the MLE.

Chris Broussard has misspelled "confirms" in his two most recent tweets.

My favorite is him "confirming" through a "source" a story that LeBron essentially broke himself through SI

Yes.

Pretty much everyone will, except Bulls fans.

Eastern Conference race is now wide open. Will say it again: Carmelo makes the Bulls instant favorites if he signs there.

i don't know who this dude is but since he's a rando there's a decent chance he's not a bulls fan

This entire discussion was, I surely thought, based on the discussion of Love landing on the Cavs. Beck, whoever that is, is surely not discussing this situation based on the same presumption based on this random message board.

I would agree that if Anthony lands on the Bulls, and the Cavs team is stays as-is, the Bulls may be favored. But if Love is traded to the Cavs? No. Just no.

He used to work for the NY Times and now is at Bleacher Report. He's not a Bulls guy. I disagree with him, but he's not a Bulls guy.

Surely a bulls team with Carmelo Anthony and a healthy Rose can be reasonably argued as the favorite in the East over a Lebron/Love lead cavs. I understand "no, but 'no just no' is too dismissive of a team that won 45 games last year and added Melo and Rose.

I think that's the first problem with this line of reasoning. Why would anyone expect "a healthy Rose" to exist?

ESPN:

While league executives wait for James to make his announcement, many refuse to believe he'll return to Cleveland to play for Gilbert. Some even believe it would be hypocritical after how powerfully James spoke out against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling after racist comments by Sterling were made public in May.

James was the first player to speak out against Sterling, saying he had no place in the NBA.

"He condemned Sterling but he's going back to the [expletive] who nearly called him an uppity [expletive]," one league executive said. "Hypocrite."

What in the what? I don't follow this logic. Were there any racist connotations in the letter to actually make this analogy? "Nearly"?? Seems pretty damned reckless to compare the two, but I don't remember the letter in full...

There were a bunch of morons back then writing/saying that it reflected a plantation mentality, things like that.

Because i choose to be optimistic about rose's health. I am choosing to believe that they (either the bulls or rose or the bulls & rose) have approached his injuries with extreme caution. Im also believing in the reports that Rose plays great in practice.
