No strikeouts in 9PA for the Iowa big three (so far).

Arismendy since June 5th (79 PA heading into today): .352/.418/.535/.953

Add in today's 2/3 with a double and a walk and he almost has to be over a 1.000 OPS during that time.

How are his splits looking this year? I remember them being brought up as a potential problem (when he was hitting righty, i think?)

For Kyle's benefit: His overall walk rate is up to 6.4% on the year and his OBP is up to .330

He's crushing lefties and doing ok vs righties. source

For his career he has virtually no split (.780 vs .766)

1.018 OPS vs. lefties, 16.7% Ks

.773 OPS vs. righties, 25.7% Ks

i don't know for sure what to make of that, but i figure our resident Alcantara expert would deem them pretty non-prospect-y on the whole

Last year was just the opposite, so I don't think there's any reason to believe there's a long-term issue with it.

Oh yeah, he's also 17 of 20 in steals this year.

Wasn't he supposed to be a mid-rotation type when he came to the states? I have to think that he'd have one of the opt outs if he isn't called up by such and such a date clauses in his minor league deal. I'm actually somewhat surprised that they haven't found a way to call him up for the purpose of showcasing him prior to the deadline.

@daytonacubs 3m

Albert Almora puts the #Cubs on top with his 3rd HR of the year. 3 hits on the night, 5 in his last 8 AB's. Cubs lead 6-5 in B8

come on, buddy
