IU's Devin Davis in 'serious' condition after being hit by a car driven by teammate Emmitt Holt. Sounds like drinking was involved but it's only mentioned because they're both minors. Nowhere near being over the legal limit.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but Holt was over the legal limit because he's under twenty one years old. For adults, the limit is 0.08 ACE; for those under twenty-one, it's 0.02 ACE. So Holt committed both minor consumption and the operating offense.

Good point, I should've said he wouldn't have been impaired. Though legally I guess he was. So he'll face an OWI charge, I assume the penalties are increased because he hit someone with the car?

Yeah, his ACE was 0.025 which is, essentially, nothing (allowing exceptions for different metabolization rates for different people). This wasn't Hanner Perea's lunacy.

The under-21 operating at over 0.02 is just a Class C infraction, along with a one-year license suspension (compare with adult OWI which starts at Class C misdemeanor). The under-21 doesn't have elevations based on hitting someone specifically (though that's not to say there's not another criminal statute that might apply to that). I had to look that up, but the under-21 statute isn't developed with different levels and elevating factors like the regular OWI statute.

Damn you Tim. :hello:

So yeah Williams, Robinson and Holt have all been suspended for 4 games each.

This is almost Sampson level bad. Btw, I don't think u should get in trouble for weed if it's obvious u smoke it. Robinson clearly looks like a smoker. Williams doesn't physically look very bright and all dumb people smoke weed.

Don't get me wrong a year is stupid but four games? Two of them exhibitions lol.

If one were inclined to argue the "losing control of the program" narrative, one could make a rather credible argument that the exceedingly light punishment of Perea set the standard for that.

One thing I read, and I'm not sure it's 100% accurate, was that this is Robinson's second failed drug test, plus he got the illegal consumption/fake ID charges with Yogi.
