Sophomore UMass Guard Derrick Gordon announces that he is gay and will be the first openly gay D1 Men's Basketball player. Glad the floodgates are starting to open.

Anyways, we're in offseason mode. Discuss draft declarations, recruiting and how bad Indiana is going to be next year here.

Stauskas turning pro. Someone name a comp that isn't white.

For current players, Randy Foye, Trevor Ariza, Jodie Meeks. Something like that.

Same trend as Embid.

Chauncey Billups, maybe?

there aren't really any good white comps either, though; he led the B1G in 3pt% (by a ton), free throw attempts, and had a strong assist rate...it's a unique skillset

I was going to say Ariza.

I want to go with Alec Burks.

wow, Jon Horford to transfer for his Senior season

"My time at Michigan has been the most beneficial period of my life in terms of athletic development and overall enlightenment," said Horford. "The bonds created over the last four years are everlasting, and the memories made are truly priceless. As on all journeys, new paths must be taken and intuition must be trusted. I leave Michigan with nothing but love in my heart."

Yup was not expecting that. Probably not but does this maybe suggest McGary is coimng back? On UMHoops they were speculating that Michigan was going to have a logjam of bigs even if McGary returned.

When this type of reporting happens do the kids every go back? My guess is that someone leaked the info. Stauskas was waiting because he had to tell his great aunt Alice in person. So he tweets no decision made, tells Alice, goes pro

once again, there is just no excuse for the illini scout board.

I live right outside of Chambana....there is nothing in that thread that even comes close to things that I hear on a regular basis. Downstate Illinois is almost like the South, just with no Waffle Houses

agreed, it is frightening.

jeremy hollowell visiting iowa st this weekend. ryan anderson visiting in may.

it's been quite the free agent season for iowa st. a transfer that sat out last year from niu got a DUI saturday night. less than 18 hours later they had a commitment from bryce dejean jones (unlv) who was visiting that weekend and apparently hanging out with the guy who got the DUI. couple hours later they got a 2015 JC commit who is sitting out next season to get BOTH shoulders operated on (???), meaning he'll have 3 yrs at iowa st.

Got to say, I've never been this excited before about a rebrand. I'm curious to see if Nike can possibly screw this up, considering the blank set of boring they have to work with.

Cuonzo Martin to Cal for some reason.

He was not terribly far from getting fired prior to the end of this season(for some reason). The UT crowd didn't seem to care for him, so it's not much surprise to me that he capitalized on the strong finish this year to get out.

Strange that he would go so far from his recruiting ties. Though to be fair I haven't looked at where his recruits at UT have come from so maybe he was casting a wider net than I thought. Good for him to move on to where he's wanted and presumably paid more.
