But seriously, you're a complete [expletive] moron. Tell us more about almora's defense (that you've never seen) oh guy who believed as recently as two years ago that Vitters was better than average at 3B (Based again, on nothing.)

It's probably above-average, but there's no way it's more than that with his lack of speed.

So ... fringe-plus?

no [expletive] lmao, waltz your hot take right back into the safe middle you [expletive] buffoon

The outrage started with him saying that maybe Almora wasn't amazing at defense.

It started with one of the davs saying I'd probably say that, and I said "sure, it's probably overrated."

Overrated doesn't mean bad.

you never "said" different, you took the standard stupid kyle stance, and then when pressed on it, you just said "he's probably actually good nm." Whatever your motivations were, it worked, cause he just hit a 2-run bomb.

At least Kyle brings a full argument..

*hugs* bro. We cool again.

*hugs back*

Most action Kyle has gotten in years.

Sorry Kyle. I don't hate you.

No one is HAPPY. But we've taken a course and its where we're at. It may work, it may not. But poking holes in 20 year olds is stupid,(a month into a season) when there are plenty of other things to talk about.

Tom, Theo and Jed took a course. They aren't my commanding officers. I am not obliged to pretend it was a good decision or withhold criticism.

You're still acting like they CHOSE this. PTR "may" have, Jed and Theo had no choice. And just once, because Kyle has certainly obliged, lets actually here what YOU would have done differently.

Wtf is "fringe-plus"? (I hope I missed the sarcasm)

His defense is the least of his concerns. His instincts and initial break on the ball allows him to cover as much ground as someone with plus speed (Hicks).

Considering the situation, Theo/Hoyer needed to be almost flawless and they haven't been, they haven't put the complimentary pieces on the roster partially b/c they haven't used/been given the resources and their FA record has not been as good as it needs to be (the rentals that have been traded are their biggest success) to have this become competitive before the kids hopefully arrive.

Nope. Kyle did. SSR did. You haven't.

Oh, that's your response. Perfect. Thanks for YOUR hot take.

hahhaha that's so perfect because the main thing kyle criticized was his power. [expletive]'s uncanny.

There's been at least one scouting report this offseason that said it was less than excellent. There will be more in the coming years as the low-minors euphoria wears off.

He really needs to turn on Javy ASAP.

I'd wager that virtually no one here is content with how things are progressing (god knows I'm not), and it is possible to be discontent (or angry, even) with how things are going and not attempt to turn every single discussion into a referendum on how shitty "the plan" is. You can, but it's useless and makes you look like a petulant tool. But it feels like some people aren't going to be happy until everyone is reduced to the same level of childish discomposure. Misery loves company, I guess.

There's a lot of middle ground between being vociferously angry at every turn and being a Pollyanna-ish FO apologist who has deluded themselves into being happy with how things are going (in fact, I'd be surprised if any of the latter even exist here).

And your pathetic personal attacks should draw a ban.

That's rich.

Seriously. People tell Kyle they wish he was dead and don't get banned.

I'm terrified of what IMB would say to me if I PM'd him spoilers.

Why do you have to make this personal about other fans? I am not a paid professional baseball man. I have weighed in on countless options to have done something different. I'm not going to lay out a hindsight blueprint for how I would have done better. It's a really weak response for fans to say, "Oh you don't like how they did it, you do better". It's no different from responding to people who say Darwin Barney sucks with, "well I'd like to see you do better." It has nothing to do with anything. The point of baseball is to be better than the 29 other organizations that all employ other "experts" and field teams with players who could do better than any fan.

The one thing I would have done differently from Rickett's perspective is fire Hendry on day one. There was no reason not to know a change had to be made and there was no reason why he could not have had another group of smart guys take over. These guys have provided zero above average return. Hendry did a [expletive] job taking advantage of the situation the Cubs were in. But he did not doom these guys to losing 90+ for several seasons. That was a choice made by the current regime. It is long past time to be placing blame on Hendry for the current state of affairs.

Do you even pay attention to anything that is discussed. That isn't what happened at all. The apologists came in and made it about that but that is not what this was about at all.
