Pete Carroll should take that Texas job ASAP before the PEDhawks get hit with the lack of institutional control penalty.

Seriously? Enough of that crap. The seahawks have had their share of PED users but Browner is not one this time. He is getting popped because he missed tests while in the CFL. Lawsuit is pending and he will be back in 2014.

The hate for Carroll (for whatever reason - still unclear) is ridiculous.

Seriously? You don't understand why a dude that bailed on a school to avoid major penalties from the NCAA is not loved like a big fuzzy teddy bear?

Bring back Saturday games dammit. We don't need 9 games on Sunday at noon. And next week I think there's going to be 11 because there's no Thursday or Monday games.

Agreed. I always looked forward to Saturday games after the college football season was over.

Now you're just being silly.

Yeah there are plenty of real reasons to hate Carroll. The USC stuff, the 9/11 truther stuff.

Now for my (admittedly) irrational one: His personality just seems incredibly fake. He seems to be on the opposite end of the crazy spectrum than Jim Schwartz--who spikes headsets even when his team just came back to win a game. But I still get bothered by Carroll's buddy buddy attitude with players and that every moment of his life seems to be the greatest moment of his life--so much so that he has to let out multiple Ric Flair WOOO's every game. Even the way he chews his gum annoys me.

Here's to New Orleans playing badly outdoors. The gulf between #2 seed and having to go on the road to face Megatron, the Bears' offense or potentially Aaron Rodgers in round 1 is vast.

QB Aaron Rodgers was an observer during team drills in portion of Packers practice that was open to media, per several beat reporters.

Yeah, it's probably the difference between being 1-and-done or getting to the NFC Championship game. As for Carolina, I'm guessing all those teams (and me as a fan of one of them) are quietly rooting for the Panthers. Carolina doesn't have a distinct home field advantage and "has never been there before", so I think teams will think they are beatable. Much better scenario than going to NO with them coming off a bye.

Perfect. I'll add crooked [expletive] nose.

I'm hoping that cutting Heartthrob Hartley and benching Charles Brown will get the Saints going on the road. That's true, this game is the difference between 1 and done or one game from the Super Bowl.

Why does the NFL no longer have Saturday games?

On a recent Simmons podcast, his guest (Cousin Sal Iacono) said the NFL had phased them out, but I have no idea why. It flies in the face of the NFL's mission to run every single day of the sports year.

Anyone have the Vegas odds on next Seahwak to get busted for PEDs?

the seahawks have had 5, broncos 4. not really the big deal its hyped to be.

as for Carroll, except for 9/11 stuff all things said here is same as most coaches and personal opinions. perhaps the hate is because the team is good?

I've read that the Saturday games were not good for ratings so they got phased out. I would guess that NFL games got ratings no matter when they are played, especially when there are 9-11 games being played at noon on Sunday.

what about the seahawks compared to every other team that isn't the broncos?

Plus the Broncos don't have Pete Carroll.

And they're really good, yet everyone doesn't hate their coach.

But they have playoff games in the first 2 rounds on Saturdays.

I think the difference is that Saturdays in January are dead zone, while Saturdays in December are littered with shopping trips and holiday parties. I think that a league so determined to sell the lousy Thursday night games could find a way to make more Saturdays work, but the other thing to consider is the whole storyline of making sure all the games matter at the moment they are played. If you had a couple games this Saturday you might make a couple Sunday games irrelevant.
