He has 25 career appearances against the Cubs. You guys don't remember him from the Astros, really?

I probably have an active memory of maybe 10% of the opposing relievers I've seen against the Cubs. If that.

And those are the guys that used to be on the Cubs.

Pretty much. My brain would collapse if I tried to retain such things.

He did start 1 game against the Cubs in 2010. I always thought he had more starts (I thought one year the Astros were going to give him a chance for some reason) but the only time he started was in 2010 and it was only 4 games in the middle of the season.

I have nothing to add that hasn't been said, but this board is pretty damn top-notch. How the heck do this many quality posters not even know who Wesley Wright is?

that would require actually watching the games beep beep boop boop i am a computer

I know who he is because THE GOD DAMN CUBS TRADED ME TO THE A'S MY ROOKIE SEASON IN THE SHOW AND I HAD TO FACE HIM A LOT.

He only really threw a high velocity fastball, so I tee'd off every time. FWIW.

Nice signing. Crazy cheap.

He looks 12

OK, I was assuming a LH reliever named "Wesley" was some kind of gangly cracker, so this is a pleasant surprise.

as you wish

When I stopped playing baseball video games and fantasy baseball (which dwindled from the same 12 people in our fantasy football league to seven) I stopped knowing every player in the game. Couple that with the extreme decline in games I've sat through in their entirety and there's no way I'd remember an obscure reliever from the most boring team in the league.

Wesley Wright is one of the relatively rare Rule 5 draft success stories.

At one time, Wesley Wright was the longest tenured member of the Houston Astros.

I knew who Wesley Wright was. Of course i make a point of knowing all 4 African American MLB pitchers. Black Cubs relievers on the Cubs scare me. Latroy Hawkins factor.

You're scared he'll be the best reliever on the team?
