i could see Eagles being a great fit, too

who the hell is the Rams backup? they've got to be about ready to pull the plug on the Bradford experiment soon

I'd think the Eagles would want to try out Foles and/or Barkley before they sign a QB off the street.

it's a pretty remote likelihood either could be top-10 QBs in Kelly's system, whereas Freeman does have the proven skills and ability to possibly thrive there

KC/Tenn seem like good fits (though Tenn would be temporary as Locker will be back this year yet). Wildcard, maybe Houston if Schaub continues to be ass/they realize he isn't the guy to get them over the hump?

I confess I have an irrational dislike for Freeman, but I don't think he's any good. He'd be 3rd on my depth chart for the Chiefs.

The first place Browns

Indeed.

Guess trading your running back for a 1st rounder isn't all that bad an idea after all.

After watching Manuel's backup, I think we found a home for Freeman.

Hoyer officially out for the year with a torn ACL. That sucks.

It does, he was looking like he could turn out to be a pretty good-average QB in the mold of a Schaub/Flacco type that if you put the right pieces around him you can definitely win.

some of bill simmons' comments on the terribleness of the jags were pretty funny.

Our friends at Football Outsiders say the 2013 Jags have the worst DVOA ever through four weeks: a staggering minus-83.8 percent. I can't even properly explain how bad that is — imagine a pro golfer shooting a 112 at the Masters and you're lukewarm.

The phrase "historically bad" has become the single most overused phrase in sports. Our reliance on this phrase in 2013 has been historically bad. But you know what? The numbers say Blaine Gabbert has been HISTORICALLY BAD this season, even if it hasn't entirely been his fault. He's thrown 67 passes for just 300 yards, completing 49.3 percent of them (for 4.48 YPA), with zero touchdowns and five picks. He has been sacked 10 times. He has generated three points for Jacksonville and 14 points for Jacksonville's opponents (thanks to two pick-sixes). His QB rating (30.7) doesn't even add up to half of the Trudeau Line (63.9). He's 90 points behind Peyton Manning's QBR with an impossible 1.4 QBR — a metric that goes from 0 to 100. In other words, Blaine Gabbert could be dead and he'd be only 1.4 points worse.

Luke Joeckel goes out on a cart.

That's probably the one injury that could actually make that team worse, shockingly, especially after trading their LT to BAL this past week.
