This has been a hell of an effort by the Bulls today. Fun to watch when they crank up the defense. Reminds me a little of the old "unleashing the dobermans" from back in the day.

Also, Jimmy Butler is a better defender than Deng. Discuss.

i've never seen a team get so many loose balls, these guys don't stop. it's incredible. they won't go anywhere in the playoffs when everyone plays like that, but they got heart.

I love watching LeBron lose so much, even if it's because they aren't as try-hardy at this stage of the season

Noah emotional in his interview. if there's a better interview in pro sports, it would be hard to find it.

The Bulls are not only going to make the playoffs but do it easily in a year in which the best player played 8 games and the third-best player got traded for literally zero present-day assets halfway through the season. Thibs for President.

I'm not following enough to know how possible it is (but guessing not possible at all) but Noah getting MVP would be awesome.

No, either Durant or LeBron will win MVP. Noah might not be first team All-NBA either, since Dwight Howard is awake out in Houston now.

It's not, but he should definitely get some votes and finish top 5.

Good article on ESPN Insider on Noah today. I particularly enjoyed the callback to Noah's draft workout interview answer as to why he'd be good in the NBA:

"Honestly, I don't know how good a player I'll be in this league, but I know one thing: I am going to run the length of the floor hard on every single play because I know most bigs hate to run; I'm going to make them hate seeing us on the schedule."

Without even looking at the numbers, I can assuredly say this is false.

Unless you mean he will get votes and finish top 5 (and not "should.") That one I can't say as definitively.

Why not? Where would this team be without him?

Because he is not one of the five most valuable players in the NBA this season.

I didn't answer the second question because it is irrelevant.

Even if that were 100% literally true, would it make Noah one of the 5 most valuable players in the league?

You can't rank players if you don't watch all the games. That's just sports 101 right there.

like duh obviously

If someone were even casually following the league this year, it's pretty obvious that because of injuries and the general dumpster fire that is the East, that there aren't very many clear cut MVP candidates outside of Lebron and Durant.

As of now it's Lebron/Durant in the top 2 spots. Chris Paul would be there but he's missed a 3rd of the season. Curry is probably a lock for top 5.

Then you have a group that includes George (who has been been pretty mediocre since the new year), Harden, Blake, Dragic, Noah, Dirk, Dragic (seriously).

Edit: Noah will get a lot more MVP votes than guys with good counting stats like Love, Kyrie, Melo, etc.
