Ugh. Dick Stockton and the Cardinals. Glad I'm not watching this crap.

I was really glad to see Stockton (I literally have no idea why he's still employed) was doing the STL series, which I wasn't going to watch anyway.

Playoff games on MLB Network suck.

Playoff baseball TV broadcasts have been awful for quite some time. As much as I can't stomach Joe Buck, I much prefer FOX to all the other broadcast options we've had in the postseason.

Stockton is the worst. He has no earthly idea what the [expletive] he is talking about. And the way he says "error" makes me want to break something.

I just want them on channels I have.

I like when the other team blows out the Cardinals in a playoff game.

STL still has 15 outs left. Do not speak until the beast is dead.

Costas is out of practice on the play by play. He used to be good, but I don't think he does it enough anymore to stay sharp. He's still better than most though.

I can only hear the play by play through highlights online but it is some good nostalgia to hear his voice doing a baseball game.

Cole just struck out Beltran on the Greg Maddux patented tailing fastball on the black on the inside corner. At 98 MPH. Ridiculous.

The Cardinals are dead and buried in this series. They aren't beating Liriano, and Wacha's not Gerrit Cole. Pirates in four.

Yeah, remember all those games where they came back from a 5 run deficit? It's probably half their wins this season.

mostly referring to last years NLDS when they came back from a 6-1 deficit or 2011 world series game 6.

I didn't really get why Miller wasn't starting today. I REALLY don't get why he's coming in to relieve in the top of the 8th down 5 runs.
Miller is definitely one of the Cardinals’ top four starters and has the raw stuff to dominate any lineup, but he showed some signs of wearing down in September and his 5.32 ERA in four regular season starts against the Pirates no doubt played a part in manager Mike Matheny’s decision.

I don't think Matheny could have really done it any differently, but I think sending two rookies to start in Pittsburgh could be extremely difficult for the Cardinals to overcome. I don't think there will be a more raucous atmosphere this postseason as Pittsburgh will be if the Pirates get out to early leads.

Agreed. If they really think Miller is gassed and they don't want to put him out there, you really didn't have another option. Lynn doesn't have the best mental make up and tends to go in the tank if things start to go wrong, so starting him on the road probably isn't any better of an option than the rookies.

Would be nice if any of these playoff games could be remotely close? Closest margin of victory in any game so far is 4 runs.
