Swap the Dodgers and Tigers and you've got mine.

I think I might want to swap the Rays and A's in mine.

Glossed over them.

I'd go A's/Pirates/Rays at the top.

Not the Cubs, don't care except for St. Louis. I hope a black hole swallows them and Molina gets a bad case of the Crabs, not in that order.

On the Rays, if they win Ill have to listen to people point to them as a model for the Cubs even more often, so [expletive] the Rays.

I like the Book Billy Bean wrote so I'm gong with the As, but I don't care. Really.

Swallowed by a black hole means I don't get to enjoy beating them when we're good again one day. Team wide Crabs will suffice.

If it was possible for the Cardinals to just disappear (or go to the AL), I would be all for that.

This actually brings up a decent topic: contraction or moving teams.....Anyone got ideas on where a team could work at this point? 3rd team in NY, LA, or Chicago? Vegas? Anywhere else?

Montreal

Yes, bring back the Expos.

1-game WC matchups are awesome. Having them play three games while everybody else sits around and waits would be dumb.

The Division Series don't even start until Thursday and Friday, which means there is plenty of room to fit a 3-game series. There is no reason to let 1-game decide a "playoff" round in a sport that plays a 162 game regular season.

This pirate crowd makes me sad about how lame and scared Cubs playoff crowds can be

Well, my memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure our crowds were pretty awesome in 2003 before the 8th inning of Game 6. Let Pittsburgh go through a few of those and see if they don't turn into tight-asses too

1. It was decided over those 162 games that you're stuck in the do or die situation. If you want a chance at a full series, win your division.

2. In the case of the AL this year, you'd have Tampa traveling from Toronto on Sunday to Arlington on Monday to Cleveland on Tuesday(then presumably) back to Tampa on Thursday, and then to Boston on Fridady.

And needing to leave Monday open for tiebreakers/make-up games, you wouldn't be able to start any of the DS games on Thursday.

Yeah, the crowds were bonkers in 2003 and 2007. It was only with 2008 where they were a-scared.

I feel like by the 5th bases loaded double play in '07 the crowd had died

I think you would feel differently if a 94-win Cubs team finished 2nd to the Cardinals and ended up losing the 1 game playoff to an 89-win 2nd Wild Card team. If anything, it was decided over 162 games that the Cubs were better than Team B, so why should one essentially random game decide who moves on? Sure, they could also lose a 3 game series, but that outcome would be a little easier to swallow.

2007 was decent, but its hard to be bonkers when a) it was one game when the Cubs were down 0-2 and b) they were losing 1 pitch into the game.

2008 had the burden of having the best record in the NL and memories the sweep of the year before with many of the same players. The 2008 crowd was actually pretty good in game 1, especially when DeRosa hit the HR. And then Dempster started walking the bases loaded every inning and Loney happened and the crowd shut up and hasnt returned since.

I've come to accept that the playoffs aren't designed to put the best teams through to the World Series. I was certainly annoyed when the '08 Cubs were swept by an inferior Dodgers team, but there's no going back at this point. I'm not going to feel less than if the 2017 Cubs make a run as the 5th best team in the NL.

I'm a fan of the 3-game series but would prefer that it was played in Wild Card #1's park for all three games.
