They were talking about what Renteria said about Rosetta Stone on Boers and Bernstein, and Abbatacola was like, "Even though it's not gonna happen..."

 

Bernstein went, "I wouldn't say that...they're very serious about this."

 

Abbatacola said, "I'll say it. It's not gonna happen."

 

Then Bernstein said, "I'm just saying...they're very serious about pursuing him. It's real. It's not just window dressing."

 

All of that is paraphrased, but it's more or less how I remember the exchange.

This is going to end in heartbreak. Sorry folks, you all like a team that I also like. There will doubtless be some weird change of fortunes just as we think we have him. "Tanaka was on the plane to Chicago to sign contract and weather made the plane land in Denver and he thought his girlfriend would like to go to high school there so he signed with Colorado." Yeah, i'm not going to sit here and say I can recall anything Julie's broke off the top of my head, but she's trustworthy. Alot of the main bloggers (Brett) and some of the main writers are in contact with her on Twitter alot. Not the type to make something up imo. 12K followers if you put any stock into it.

Are we thinking we know the verdict Monday or Tuesday probably? Close has arb filings to deal with tomorrow. Tanaka makes a decision over the weekend, leaks out Monday, travels Tuesday, has physical Wednesday, announced Thursday or Friday?

It was the Yankees.

 

That'd be the dream scenario. But I'm guessing it was the Dodgers. It sounds like they aren't that serious of bidders and they were probably more preoccupied with the Kershaw extension.
